I, too, have been scammed by this agency who refused to pay.Dear Felicia Ray Ortiz,
I was supposed to receive checks in May of 2011 for Magnum Ice Cream's
red carpet promotions at Plano,IL for the April 17th 12:00-4PM and
Hodgkins, IL open on the April 16th 12:00-4PM. I arrived 15 minutes
early for both promotions and performed all the duties asked of me. In
May you apologized for the delay and assured me payment would be
coming.

It is now September 2011 and I still have no checks. Assuming that the
checks that you claim to have mailed were indeed sent, I obviously
have no responsibility to the the delivery of mail. Consulting with my
attorney, I was also assured of this, as it would be unlawful, as you
stated in your last email, to deduct any monies from a check that was
not received. Note that I have received no lapses in mail, and
received all other work checks and mails since this has been owed.
Even in my recent move all mails were setup to be forwarded in advance
via USPS and received properly since. Although not my responsibility,
I was even sympathetic to initial delays as you explained that you
have not been paid as of yet. However you know my contract is not
contingent on any payment you may or may not receive and any resulting
delays is solely your responsibility.

You can imagine after even reaching out to my circles to try and help
you staff the promotion, I might be irritated that I have been jumping
through hoops trying to get paid for 4 months. If the situation is
delayed any further I assure you I will be reporting the situation to
the proper bureaus and online review sites to help protect others from
enduring such heartache from Sphynx Marketing, StaffOn Models, and
namely Felicia Ray Ortiz.

Note that I am not looking to argue with you. I would imagine if you
choose to continue along the same path as in the past, it would be
more reliable in getting paid via the court system anyways. Although
it would be disappointing as this would be the first time in 5 years
of working such promotions that I felt the need to publicly protect
others from a company's unlawful practices.

I have also cc-ed Cynthia Rice in this email, as she was another point
of contact that may become relevant should this issue move forward
through legal channels.
