First Merit Bank Scott Cassidy Scott Cassity, AkaOPC827 First Merit Bank witheld and then converted my mother's pension funds with out due process. Akron Ohio

When my parents died, First Merit Bank converted more than $20,000.00 in pension funds from their estates' account. There was some confusion with Ohio Public Employees Retirement Service (OPERS). OPERS tried to recover the pension funds by mistake. I was appointed administrator for their estates and woke up one morning to find that OPERS back charged the checking account  I immediately disputed the payment reversals and First Merit assured me that the funds would be deposited into the account within a couple weeks.

Several weeks passed and I revisited the Fairlawn branch where I opened the account. The branch manager informed me that they sent the payments back to OPERS, charged thousands in overdraft charges, and closed the acount. I contacted OPERS. OPERS claimed that they did not receive any pension funds back from First Merit Bank.

We had to litigate with OPERS for a few years to get a letter from them stating they did not receive the pension funds from First Merit Bank. I brought that letter along with another letter stating that OPERS had no interest in the pension funds to Scott Cassity at First Merit Bank. From that point forward Scott Cassity stopped returning my calls.

I then sent a certified letter to Scott Cassity requesting the return of the balance and all relivant evidence. To this day, I still have not received any response or payment.
