Like many before, I also got the phone call after entering a draw at Center of Gravity in Kelowna.  They said I won a free cruise... I didn't.

I talked to a man names "Bill Macoy" who pressured me into it.  I told them I didn't have a VISA card, and that I only have my mothers... they told me to use hers... thinking that I was a winner and that the card wouldn't be of much use anyways I went ahead and used her card.  After that he gave me over to another man for verification... once I got off the phone I called me mom who immediatly told me it was fraud!

I called their customer care line moments later and went through three people... Emmanuel, Colado (very rude bitchy lady) and then finally after about an hour of talking and being on hold and being scutinized they gave me over to a  "manager"... the manager sounded like she was at a bar... it was noisy in the background.  She hounded me the same questions... then i pulled out "it's flordia state law that i can redeem my money within 72 hours"... they told me that doesn't apply with Canadians but either way by the end of the call the manager finally said "fine.  what's the last 4 digits of your card and your expirary date?"  She told me I would get 100% of my money back... I found it weird that she never gave me a cancellation number but at this point i was justglad to hear she would do something about it, so i left it at that, thinking all would be good...

2 weeks later my mom gets her VISA bill and there is over $600.00 charged to it and NO CREDIT.  So we call up the bank and they said no one has tried to put a refund on the card and that I should call back and get a cancellation number...

I called back...

After 80minutes on the phone, it was ended by the lady hanging up ON ME!  I talked to Colado (again)... who said they have NO RECORDS of me ever calling (even tho at the beginning they say the phone call will be recorded)... then they attack me because I don't remember the name of the manager I spoke too, even tho i remembered the name of the first two.  They told me SO MUCH CRAP.. like i probably didn't call the right number, or maybe i didn't talk to a real manager... regardless... thats not my problem, im just the customer.  They told me there is no record of me calling, and that i had no proof that I talked to a manager to get a full refund.  I told them she asked for my last 4 digits and expiry date, they told me thats not how things are done around there, and that if this was a "REAL" person then they would have given me a cancelation number!!

So now I'm the crazy person?

After all was done, they told me to call back in a few hour (yeah right like they will pick up my phone)... she also gave me a different number to be reached at (18002218200) she told me thats the only number where i can get through to them, then i told her that i had just reached her at 18002311298, and she told me that was impossible... which is weird cuz thats the number i dialed to get her just now??  She told me that number was wrong, even though it couldn't be since i was speaking with her after dialing it... like what the eff?

So basically, they lie, they manipulate, you can NEVER take their word, they are rude and un-educated, and flat out a pain in the A**.

So far i have spoken to Bill Macoy, Terrance, Colado, Capryse, Emmanuel, and another soft spoken manager who lied to me and told me she would refund my money only to get me off the phone!!!

Please please pleeeeeeeease if anyone can give me advice what to do now.... they told me that since its been 2 weeks my package is 'locked in' and there is no way to get my money back now, and they don't believe me that I already called and spoke to a manager to get my money back... Please help!

Thank You

Michelle, I am so happy you posted. You did win a free cruise. You do not pay for a cruise at all. They advise you that your giving your credit card for the extended stay, which in fact, if you read your voucher correctly that you had entered into the drawing, it would of told you about the extended stay. As well, if you were truely paying attention, you went to a 3rd party verifier who read you a script verbatum that advised you that you were paying for an extended stay. As well, that third party verifier in the beginning of your call gives you a customer service phone number AND has you repeat it at the end. 1800-221-8200. That is the number to a fullfilment center (a center that fullfills pkges for numerous companies) were customer care is more than happy to assist you.

Michelle, you purchased a discounted pkge, and i can tell by the way your mom acted that you are young. Being young you should really pay attention carefully and listen to what people are saying to you. You got exactly what you filled out for and verified.

To anybody else ready bad comments i have been on this cruise. This is a great affordable getaway to take, especially for first time travelors, because it allows you to experience all of florida at one low fixed rate. You cant afford to do a entire vacation pkge (land and cruise) for any less. As well, instead of looking at uncertified websites like this, look at www.seflorida.bbb.org. Or cruise critic.com and there actual point of view. You will find everyones complaints on here are based on there stupidity....Not the companies. Or the company would not be on bbb.org, or in business.

You Aren't Locked In

Forget calling these bottom feeders at their boilershop. Simply write a letter to the Florida Attorney General like all the other people who recieved a refund did. Send a copy to Ramada Plaza Resorts who operates this scam. Threaten a lawsuit. Contact your bank which is probably well aware of the "free cruise" deal. These people depend on the suckers they reel in to continue calling the "managers" and getting nowhere. Eventually the suckers give up. My advice to you is to write a business type letter and simply request a refund. Send it certified mail. They don't have time to fool with customers who are aware of their rights and will cause them problems. They will pay you off and call some other person.
