I received this GC through a mystery auciton on eBay. The eBay seller was misleading biders into thinking that the mystery gift certificate or card worth at least $500 and was from a major retailer like Best Buy, Circuit City or Wal-mart. I won the bid at $207 and was very excited for myself and my little pet rescue organization (was going to buy a digital camera with GC for the organization). The seller had 150 positive feedbacks so I figured it was legit. When I got the so-called GC 3 weeks later (seller waited for my check to clear of course) it was a $1000 certificate to this online shop www.freegiftsamerica.com (also known as woarewards.com). What the seller did not count on was that my father had experience with this kind of GC before when he receive the exact same GC from a car dealership. I knew right away that it was a total rip off. Notice that most of the items are outdated and worth about half or less than what this online shop is pricing them as. Listed below are the fees associated with your --free gifts-- you can see just how this site scams unsuspecting people out of their money.

The site does not list the fees outright and tells you it is a minimal fee (in very small print). As for the seller on eBay, I asked for a refund but got no answer. I read his agreement and realized why he had such good feedback...he DEMANDED positive feedback BEFORE any chance of refund. He was taking the buyer's only leverage and also risking the buyer's feedback status. His very exsistence as a seller depended on the feedback and his underhanded way of getting it is so wrong. Very deceitful and sneaky. How many has this seller burned? I have not used the GC and disputing with Ebay to get my money back. I am a good, honest person but now a little wiser. Buyer beware and be sure to do your research. I also discovered a distributor of these GC. The GC are sold by the hundreds for sometimes as low as a $1.00 each!

1-20 -- I did more research on these Gift Certificate Scam Shops...this is what is written on their site...

Processing & Delivery - When using the www.woarewards.com or www.freegiftsamerica.com gift certificate or shopping spree, User understands that there is a processing, handling and delivery fee associated with EVERY item in the catalog. (Note from Reviewer--this list is hidden until you type in your GC number and there is no turning back)

Returned Items MUST be unused and in Original Packaging. (Note from Reviewer--in other words, you open and use it and it doesn't work or you don't like...too bad)

Here is some example of some of their itemS they have listed and costs associated. Notice that you can buy the same items (if they are still available and not discontinued) elsewhere...

FreeGiftsAmerica has CHANGED ... the ripoff report is now obsolete.

AUTHOR: Esperanca - (U.S.A.)

POSTED: Friday, December 21, 2007

Just a quick note to let Mary from Sagniaw, Michigan know that FreeGiftsAmerica/WOA Rewards is now DIFFERENT. There are no more Processing & Delivery charges OR hidden charges. Here's a direct quote from the site:

NOTICE: The "Shopping Spree or Gift Certificate" Program has been modified. It is now called the "Certificate" Program. Instead of paying a Processing and Delivery fee as indicated on your Certificate, you now pay our "You pay only Price, S&H" which price includes the Shipping and Handling for delivery right to your door ...

I order from this certificate myself and there are no hidden charges. You pay the price clearly shown, called "You pay only Price, S&H". The only extra charge is a $14.95 fee per order. This is not per item, but per order. This time I ordered 6 items so that $14.95 divides out to just about $2.50 extra per item. No big deal. If you live in the state of New York, you have to pay state sales tax. That's normal business. There is an international surcharge which varies by country, so if you live outside the USA you should find out what you'll be charged for that. Their return policy is not unusual -- most online merchants do not give refunds on opened merchandise and also add a restocking fee.

Anyone reading this can go to certificatesavings.com (the same company, WOA Rewards, with a different domain name) and have full viewing access to EVERYTHING in the entire World of America (WOA) store, just like if you were redeeming a passcode. Simply click on any category at the top of the page and you'll get right in. Read the Conditions of Use too at wadiscount.com/conditions.php ... it's all out in plain sight, they're not trying to hide anything. You can even back out at the very last minute if you change your mind during checkout.

I agree with you, Mary, that $207 WAS a HUGE ripoff to buy this certificate. That eBay seller scammed you and sold a product for a disgusting amount of profit and deliberately misled you. But realize that the fault does not lie with the FreeGiftsAmerica/World of America certificate, the fault lies with the eBay seller you bought the certificate from. World of America is a pretty decent marketplace. The certificate enables you to shop the store because it contains the passcode you need in order to get the "You pay only Price, S&H" price. (Without the passcode you pay way too much.)

In my opinion no one should pay more than $25 for one of these certificates.
