i was asked for $1.00 for credit check by privacy matters, then asked for $1.00 for a free gift and shopping money for k-mart,walmart or a natoinally known store,i sent the money to both places and the only thing i've heard from them was when i saw an additional $14.95 taken from my bank account fom both galleria and privacy matters.

$1.00 does not = Free

John-- Never, never give give your bank routing numbers or debit card info to anyone you do not trust or know this is giving them enough info to attack your checking account for any amt they please. If you have a credit card use it, you are protected by a different set of rules. It is much easer to dispute a charge on a cc than it is with a bank.

What you need to do now is go to your bank and tell them there has been an unauthorized debit of your account. Be nice but firm and insist the money be re-deposited into your account. Do not take NO for an answer. This must be done soon I think you only have a 60 day window to do this.

One thing to remember, if someone is offering something for "free" it should mean just that - FREE. That should mean no cash to change hands.

I dont know if the "ripoff" people will let me say it but you may want to go to the "clarkhoward, com" web site. This site may help you and others so you wont need to use this web site.
