I have never experienced such rude unprofessional people in my life. My American Express bill was sent to them for non payment. I am in no way denying my debt. I am human and have fallen into a financial hole. I was contacted by a woman named Ms. Sylvester. She lied by telling me that my credit had not been affected as of yet and if I paid immediately in full it would not be affected. She then told me that I had great credit and should have no problem getting a loan. I then applied for a loan for the full amount at my bank. A few days later I was told that me loan was denied for my credit delinquincy (Amex). I called Ms. Sylvester and told her that I didn't appreciate being lied to. She said too bad pay your debt. I have on since explained that I do not have the money to pay in full and would like to set up a payment plan. I was told no, I must pay in full. She said I better go borrow the money or refinance my house. She was so rude and evil and treated my like a criminal. In the meantime I sent Amex a check for $200. Ms. Sylvester called me a few days and said that wasn't good enough. I spoke to her supervisor who took the exact same tone with me. I explained that I am simply trying to resolve the debt and I would like to set up payments. He basically said oh well not his problem and said I must pay in full. HELLO, do they have a hearing problem, I don't have the money to pay in full. I am not some horrible criminal, why am Ibeing treated as such?

In the end, a collector is not obligated to accept a payment plan or schedule. However, if you send them a payment, they will cash the check. It will go towards the balance on the account. They may call and ask for more, but you can only do what you can do.

IT IS NOT GC'S RESPONSIBILITY TO "SERVICE" YOU. THE CLIENT,AMEX, SENT YOU THERE BECAUSE YOU DIDNT PAY THEM AS AGREED AND THEY WEREN'T SERVICING YOU ANY LONGER. THEY HIRED GC SERVICES TO GET THE ACCOUNT PAID. THEY ARE A 3RD PARTY COLLECTION AGENCY. THEIR JOB AND RESPONSIBILITY TO AMEX IS TO GET THE BALANCE OWED PAID IN FULL. THAT IS THE GOAL AND THE OBJECTIVE.

COLLECTORS PUT UP WITH RUDE, IGNORANT, ABUSIVE PEOPLE ALL DAY. FDCPA IS IN PLACE FOR A REASON SO IF THEY ARE VIOLATING ALL OF THESE LAWS WHY DIDNT YOU FILE A COMPLAINT WITH THE PROPER AUTHORITIES, THE FTC(FEDERAL TRADE COMMISSION). IS YOUR COMPLAINT VALID?

THE OTHER RESPONDER PROBABLY GOT A PAYMENT ARRANGEMENT BECAUSE AMEX TOLD THEM IT WAS OK... BELIEVE ME THAT IS NOT THE OBJECTIVE HERE. GC MAKES NO MONEY IF YOU DON'T PAY YOUR BILL.

SORRY.. LOOK UP THE FDCPA AND YOU ARE DEFINED AS A DEBTOR, NOT A CUSTOMER. SO CUSTOMER SERVICE WAS NOT IN ORDER. WHAT WAS GIVEN TO YOU WAS A FIRM DEMAND FOR BALANCE IN FULL, WHICH IS DUE WHEN YOU DEFAULT.

GC Services rude and unreasonable

3 years ago I too received a call from GC Services saying pay in full by borrowing from a friend or family member. I told them I had no one to borrow from nor did I have the total amount $7500.00 to pay. they were rude and unreasonable. told me to file bankruptcy. did not like that reponse so I reported them to AMEX that I did not want to go thru GC Services. the following Monday I got a nicer call from GC Services and that the repayment program that I wanted to set up would be acceptable. It took me a year by paying them every other week but finally I had zero balance on the account which since had been closed.

I suggest that if you talk with them again the Jacksonville, FL office you ask to speak with Mrs. Sangillo who is an excellent rep to deal with and will work with you in your situation
