On 10-28-08 a GE repairman arrived and informed me that my electric dryer , model #DHDVH52EFWW, needed a new motor. I have an extended warranty that is good until 6-9-20011.There wasn't a motor available on the West Coast, according to him, so one was ordered and an appointment for repair was set up of 11-4-8 from 8:00 AM to noon. The part arrived via Fed Ex on 11-1-08.

On 11-4 no one arrived or phoned and finally after several calls to GE , I was informed at 3:45PM that they could not locate their service technician. They then scheduled me for another service call on 11-7-08 from 8:00 AM to noon and promised me that I would be the first call that day. At 9:30 on 11-7-08 I called to inquire about the status of my service call and was told that they were"on the way". I waited 45 minutes and called back only to be informed that "on the way" does not indicate an imminent arrival, but instead only means that they will arrive sometime before noon and further more they cannot promise that a call will be made first thing.

At 12:04 I called back and was rescheduled for 11-11-08 from 8:00 AM to noon. I asked them if they were able to contact the repairman and they assured me that he would call me back.I asked them how they made this contact and they told me that it was done via e-mail. I asked if they had a way to call him directly and they claimed they did notl. He never did call me. In fact in all this time, no one called me back or called to inform me that they would not arrive on time or not arrive at all.

Also, it became apparrant that no record of my contacts with GE was availabe and I had to repeat my whole story each time I called. I also could not gain access to the same person even when I requested that person. ( By this time I was taking names) All I want is a repaired dryer.
