I bought this Web Cam and the installation software that makes it run at a Big Lots Store in Austin,Texas. I had gotten a loot of great gear from Big Lots in the past and had always wanted a web cam.

So I read the instructions VERY carefully and there was NOTHING AT ALL that indicated that this WEB CAM and/or its CD Diver would trash my Laptop which is a Delol Latitude C810 and was loaded at the factory with Windows XP - Professional. I have had it for several years now and it is that rarest of rare, A e Dell computer that runs beautifully.. WELL IT DID UNTIL A FEW HOURS AGO!

I inserted the little Driver CD into my laptop and prepared to install the Web Cam program and it was halfway done when all at once an icon appeared telling me that the contents of the program I was installing was INCOMPATIBLE with my operating system. The door where I had put this little CD opened up by itself then the computer made noises like gears grinding. Of course, I shut it down and noticed that my firewall and my virus protection programs were GONE. I REINSTALLED THEM ASAP!

When I rebooted, I noticed that whatever page I was on would freeze up and at times it would be very slow to load.I had to keep rebooting to get the laptop to run at all.

I THINK MY DISPLAY DRIVER was messed up by the GEAR HEAD INSTALLATION DISK for the damned web cam.

I was shopping for some last minute holiday presents and I noticed that whenever I was ready to checkout on the page, I would lose control of my mouse and it was like a program kicked in that was trying to get my financial information. But what it had no way of knowing is that I DO NOT PUT MY PRIVATE FINANCIAL INFORMATION ON THE internet AND I DON'T HAVE A CREDIT CARD! The merchants I deal with prefer a US Postal Service Money Order and I am protected by the USPS in case something DID go wrong,

THIS STUPID SOFTWARE IS GOING TO COST ME SOME MAJOR MONEY!

I did write to the e-mail address on the web site. I was unable to locate another address fdor them ALTHOUGH IT MIGHT BE ON THE WEST COAST. i SAY THIS BECAUSE SHORTLY BEFORE THE COMPUTER STARTED MAKING THE LOUD NOISES, A CLOCK APPEARED ON MY SCREEN DISPLAYING PACIFIC STANDARD TIME. I AM IN THE CENTRAL TIME ZONE.

They better have a d**n GOOD EXPLANATION OF WHAT WENT WRONG AND What I can do to repair this mess.

The program was still trying to install after I removed the disk and after I booted up again but I eventually got it removed from my OS!

A major act of destruction from the **** Head or Gear Head guys and their Limited Liability Corporation!!!!
