A few days back, one of their customers hits my car's rear end while going up an on ramp. The driver at first said sorry and tried to pay me off, but I chose the route of involving the police.  Sure enough we both stated our sides of the story, and apparently it was obvious mine made the most logical sense, since the short form of the police report I am holding states the other driver hit me while I was at a standstill(due to rush hour traffic) while on an onramp. I first contacted Geico and was treated rather unfairly at first, so I just shook it off and went through my company (State Farm) in order for them to handle matters in my name.  Geico was well aware of what I did(since I told them of my choice), and that should have signaled them to cease communication from me and just deal with State Farm.  4 days later, a claims rep from geico (Zach), called at 9:10pm as recorded on my cell phone as the incoming time. He basically said his policy holder negated the story and that geico was not paying the claim. I mentioned the Police report and he essentially said he had a report negating everything that I basicaly am reading in black and white. So I asked if he was calling me a liar, and he said he must go with what his policy holder states and if we want we can discuss this with a police officer....all the while using a loud and threatening tone.  If he was expecting me to back off what I know is the truth just because he was using scare tactics, he is crazy.  I just got off the phone with a Geico supervisor and he said that he will make sure that this Zach character doesn't call me again, because it is true that if I use my own insurance company one company should simply talk to the other avoiding contacting the person involved. He also said that it is true that no one should be calling my home at that hour of the night. What's going to be done? Apparently nothing more than a slap on the wrist. This simply tells me that this is the geico way of doing business....dirty and underhanded. All their scare tactic did was made me mad enough to communicate this story through any way possible.

First of all, the facts were presented by official police report. Second of all the rep from Geico was told previously I was going through my company; therefore he had no business calling that evening to begin with. Lastly, the Geico rep had some nerve using the word "liar" and making threats to me. Bottom line, Geico has thugs on their staff!

First off, it really doesn't matter what is reported by you. The insurance company is ALWAYS going to side with their own policyholder-just as yours would with you.  Since you finally went through your own insurance company, you should have just said to Geico to contact your insurance company and stop bothering you. End of story.

Many insurers have late night staff.  Believe it or not, its purpose is not to hassle people. The late staff often has a beter chance to contact parties presenting claims after they get home from work.   Some insurers have a full staff 24 hours per day.
