Sorry to hear this but this is a common practice. You obviously had some form of accident. If they totalled out your car then they have done thier part. It was determined that YOU as a customer are too expensive to keep. If you had too many claims they will drop you. As I said, its common. Insurance companies like to tell everyone they are in it for the customer. But the reality is they are in it for MONEY! Its all about money. Do some quick math and you will understand why. Say roughly 4 million customers paying roughly around $100 a month. Now subtract ALL of the claims, then overhead, then advertising and you get the profit. EVERY CLAIM AFFECTS THE COMPANY BOTTOM LINE. You were just one of the ppl who got cut THAT MONTH because you reached a claim "soft cap". Which is a polite way of saying you cost them too much money. This is going to effect you later when you try and get another auto insurance. Like any business that deals with money, there are internal communications between the companies and they do "report" on everyone. So good luck in the future, and try and drive more carefully.
