Always been a fan as a buyer, and then a seller. Lately Roger Raffee and his staff at GEMM are dropping the ball. Despite numerous e-mails I am still awaiting payments due from them. Their website claims that checks are calculated on TUESDAY, then printed on Friday. This has NEVER been the case. When questioned about that Mr. Raffee says that it's just a guideline and to "upgrade our site is not possible." Checks used to be sent out the following Monday, that hasn't happened in over 3 months now. Despite the 7 day hold placed on sellers (which I totally understand) checks are NOT arriving in a timely manner. My latest check is now 17 days over processed time. When questioned Mr. Raffee's response was "There was a holiday."  "And I think those checks were mailed out on the 31st." Really? I am appalled at the way he would treat his sellers...we are your business...and that he (and his staff) would continually give fluff answers to sellers. This whole issue started around tax time and hasn't improved since then. Currently I am out well over $1,000 in product mailed and payments NOT received. I surely can't be the only one experiencing this problem? I would love to hear from other sellers that agree with me. Judging by my prior experience with Mr. Raffee I'm sure that if he reads this I will be kicked off his site. And like the previous person I won't see a dime of my money. I still feel the need to hold people accountable for their business and actions. I'm sure that GEMM may be about to fold...why else would they NOT pay the sellers? Just sayin'......

Yes you have been lucky, there isn't "more to the story" than I clearly outlined. Since being kicked off of GEMM and ripped off of over $1,000 I have since started selling on Discogs with ALL money coming directly to me and not through a con artist like Roger Raffee. I am happy that your situation with GEMM has gone smoothly...but don't question them or their late payments. As you will find yourself in the same situation as myself. When I hit Palm Springs in September I will be per-suing this matter legally and will keep this post updated.

In my opinion there has to be more to the story. I've been a member of the site for years. As both a buyer and seller. It's possible I've been "lucky" but I've never had such severe problems. They've always been helpful the few times I've had to contact gemm for customer service.

GEMM Roger Raffee witholding and refusal to pay, Internet

After my previous post inquiring if anyone else was receiving their payments late from the on line company GEMM, I was indeed terminated from their site by early morning. The next day I received the check from 5-22-12 (that was finally mailed 6-5-12) although the owner Roger Raffee "thought it was mailed on the 31st of May." I deposited it in the bank and it was returned on a stop payment. I contacted GEMM about all of the over $1,000 due to me and was told that it would be sent in 90 days.

This was before the check had been stopped. I just contacted Mr. Raffee and this is his reply: "You posted false statements on the internet meant to defame and libel GEMM. We can't come to your state and sue you for what you did but GEMM sure has a reason not to send payment to you for the sales you made through our site.  Why don't you come to California and sue GEMM? Let's settle this in court. -Roger"

I caution anyone that would consider selling on GEMM to be very worried as I am proof that you will not get your money. I was an honest seller with No negative feedback, No claims and No problems. When I questioned why it was taking longer than there stated time for payments to arrive this is what I wound up with. I also caution anyone buying from GEMM to consider how this company operates and ask yourself is this right, is this how we do things?
