I had my van repod for a total 1,200 dollars I owed. Fine I got what i deserved for being late. I spoke with Darren @ Global Asset recovery and he assured me he would hold my plates so i didn't have to be inconvenienced any further because he hated to screw the working man. He did and I was very greatful as I thought I was dealing w/proffesionals.

Unfortunately, they are a bunch of petty thieves who are no beter than crackheads. They stole a few dollars in quarters which I don't care about. What bothers me is the irreplacable hunting knife given to me by someon whose no longer on this earth.

There's only 3 possible people who could have taken it. There were 2 drivers who I have on video, or the guy who works in the yard. He reassured me that my property was safe as he's the only one who works the yard and it's always locked. I explained that I want it returned anonymously and there would be no questions asked.

Unfortunately, nobody has contacted me and I want to let everyone know that Repo laws need to change. How can they literally steal a $30,000 van when I only owe 1,200? They basically just robbed me of $28,800 not to mention the $50,000 in tools in my van. How is it legal they can rob me of $78,000 for $1,200.

This goes to show how corrupt the system is and who they  truly protect. The criminals running these corporations and this country.

Can we stop derailing this topic please.Fact is property was stolen

I know all about the repo and paid it off and got my van back. It should have never been taken in the first place because I was in touch w/ ford and made a payment to them and was supposed to make another in 2 weeks and I'd be caught up.

REGARDLESS, the fact is that they STOLE personal irreplacable property. This is where the "Petty crackhead  criminal mentality" comes in. You may think it's alright since it's not yours but it's not alright w/me. It's my property that was taken. It was only a $150.00 knife but no matter how menial it is to you it has a value to me that can't be replaced.

I gave them the respect and wrote that Darren saved the plates for me which he didn't have to do but he did. unfortunately the people he works with are petty criminals. Facts are facts.

"I know they can repo the van but they shouldn't be allowed to take it if it's filled with possesions that have nothing to do with the contract."

So, according to this brilliant idea, they shouldn't be allowed to repo if there is any other personal property in the vehicle?   Hmmm.  I guess that anyone who was behind on their payments woudl then fill up the vehicle with personal possesions to avoid the repo.  Yeah, that'll work.

How about this alternate solution?   When you know you're behind on your payment, take your personal stuff out of your van to avoid it getting taken when the van goes.

Look on the bright side.  If the van really was worth $30K and you only owed $1200, you will be getting a nice chunk of money back from the lender.  They owe you the difference between what you owe and what they sell it for, minus repo fees.

If you read my 1st paragraph I stated I got what i deserved for being late.  I know what the contract was.

My point is that when they repod the van, they technically stole the tools because they have nothing to do with the contract. Yes I I did get them back but that was because they couldn't get into any other portion of the truck because I had it all locked down and the bulkhead door is bolted shut.

I know they can repo the van but they shouldn't be allowed to take it if it's filled with possesions that have nothing to do with the contract. Also I wouldn't and shouldn't have to sell anything that I worked my life for. It's how I make my living.

It's unfortunate  but I have to fight to work at 1/2 the salary I used to because nobody does anything about the illegal immigrants in this country. They're not taking jobs nobody wants. They're taking jobs we can't do anymore because the salary doesn't compete with the overinflated economy. I don't know what field of work you're in but if they were taking your job I'd love to see you take a 1/2 pay cut.

You know what point I'm trying to make you troll. You either work for a repo or a credit agency so stop trying to cause uneccesary controversy.

The fact is that personal property was stolen. It doesn't matter if it's a dollar.

I am sorry but based on some of the comments you made you are clueless as to the legal agreements you made.

How can they literally steal a $30,000 van when I only owe 1,200?
- They didn't steal it.  The Reposessed it because YOU did not fullfill the legal agreement YOU made when the company loaned you several thousand dollars to get the van.  They could reposess it for being $1 delinquent if they wanted to.  This is because until it is paid in full it is NOT your van.

They basically just robbed me of $28,800 not to mention the $50,000 in tools in my van
- When did the stealing of the tools happen, the only thing you mentioned was your plates and a knife.  I would think if they did steal them that would have been mentioned a bit more than just as a passing thought.  Of course if you did have $50,000 in tools I am sure you could have sold off a couple for the $1,200 and still be able to function.

But if you really did have items taken then go file a Police Report.
