I am an ex-employee of Global-Sun Pools, Inc. I was not going to submit a complaint, for the simple reason that I too read the complaints from this board but dismissed the posts and accepted a position with this company.

The reason I changed my mind was the Rebutal from David. Hello David, I remember you. You were just as naive then as you are obviously are now. First, you are incorrect in saying Global-Sun Pools' list price is the same as the cost. I have seen the pricing sheet from Apollo. Global-Sun Pools' list price has an approximate 300% mark up. For the people who think this mark up is high..., it is not. When hiring a contractor to provide materials AND LABOR, this mark up is fairly standard. This is not one of my problems with this company. This was simply posted to show David was simply "singing the company song", like he always did.

David was correct in saying customers should read their contracts. My problem with this is David implying that the salesmen were PERSONALLY AND INDIVIDUALLY dishonest. What he was refering to was the statement that all salespeople with Global-Sun Pools told their customers: "This pool comes with a Lifetime COVERAGE." For potential customers, ask the salesperson what COVERAGE means and then expect to see a wonderful verbal tap-dance. For David, the reason why we all said that is because it was what we were TRAINED to say and it was REQUIRED that we tell the customers this. Bottom line: I agree with David's statement that everyone should read their contracts but don't play that "better than thou" card. Everyone associated with this company carries a degree of shame.

Now, for those thinking of making a career with Global-Sun Pools. Feel free to disregard this as "another disgruntaled ex-employee taking shots", because I did not takes others advise either. My story: By the final day of training, more than one-third of the class quit (obviously they didn't agree with the company). I received my first lead and sold it, expecting a commission of approximately $750. Shortly after that, I received glowing praise and was told I was need to become a "Road Warrior". (They are very good at making this sound glamorous) So off I went. I got to see quite a bit of some of the poorest, rural areas this country has to offer. After a few weeks I asked where my commission checks were (now totalling over $5000). I was told that these checks MUST be sent to the salesperson's home address and could not be sent to my temporary location. (Yes, I should have quessed the game right there)

After about two months on the road, I contacted a family memeber to get my landloard (back home) to let them in to my place and retreive my commission checks. Well, what do you know...no checks! I was told by one of the Vice-Presidents that there was a clerical error on my address and that was why no checks were received. I will stop boring you with the details of the next two weeks and the constant arguements and LIES told to me, but that was the end of my career.

Then I was told my commission checks would not be sent until they received all company materials back. After that was done, I was told the materials returned were received after a designated time and I would be "fined". To define that word, I sold over 30 pools (expecting to receive between $500 and $1500 per sale) but received only FOUR checks, each for $200.

Oh, one final word: Every customer I sold to complained about the installation process, the pool's construction, the care it took for the "Maintenence Free" pool or all of the above.

Still want to join this company? Well, good luck and I'm glad I am not alone in my ignorance.
