i bought this unit on sunday aug 12, 2012 in the amount of $47.92. the unit was all taped

up including the five speakers. i asked the clerk if the unit played ok and she replied yes, we check them out before we put them on the floor. i bought the unit.  after bringing it home i inspected the unit and it had no patch cords and no speaker wires to hook the unit up. i happened to have patch cords and speaker wires. i installed all patch cords and speaker wires and turned the unit on and the front screen lit up. i hooked up an external audio source with the patch cords and there was not the slighest audio. i feel that i have a legitimate complainent. i can aslo supply the clerk information which is 00000634 terminal 001
invoice 000009. i realize that goodwill sells their stuff as is however i feel this is fraud when a clerk tells the customer me that the unit has been checked out and how could they without an external audio source, a patch cord and speaker wires. at this point, i will never buy anything from goodwill industries.

What to do if purchase doesn't work.

I have been a customer of Goodwill for a long time.  I have found that they will usually take the item back IF  a)  you have a receipt   and b) you purchased it in the last few days.  Speak softly and smile a lot!!  Tell them what the salesperson told you and that they must have missed something.

Now, to prevent this happening, I NEVER buy something unless I have tried it in the store.  Or it is so cheap, I can afford to take the risk.  If you can't try it (whatever the reason), don't buy it.
