Government Grant Info Center ripoff Scam! Want your money for fake grant money! Saint Petersburg Florida

I received a call from an man with an Indian accent telling me that I had been selected from a survey from Trans Union and Equifax to receive $8000- in federal grant money. I was told that I did not have to pay this grant money back and that it was 100% guaranteed.

I was suspicious from the get go, because I have been a victim of identity theft in the past, and have a special tag on my credit with both of the aformention agencies. I found it very odd that they would be requesting my bank info over the phone. I explained to the man that if I did indeed win this grant money, that they could send me a check. I was informed I would need to pay $269- for processing. I told the guy he was nuts.

He let me talk to his supervisior, which also had an Indian accent who went by the name Rich Markson Secret Badge #GGIC119. Yeah right. He told me the conversation was being recorded for my saftey. I asked him how was I supposed to know it was really being recorded.

I asked for his address and phone #. He wouldn't give me the # but tried to convince me it was all legit. I told him I didn't believe him. He told me to look it up on the internet under www.federalgovernment.com and that he would call me back in 10 minutes. I looked and there was no website...but I found this site instead...thank god! Needles to say he did not call back in 10 minutes.
