Hanks Fine Furniture Alec LIARS WHO DONT DELIVER Destin Florida

We ordered our bed and chest of drawers the day we closed on our new home in Freeport with Alec at Hanks.  It was a Tuesday, August 2.  We were told it would be delivered that coming Friday, August 5th.   It is now August 30th and we still have no bed.  

FIRST RED FLAG:   We were also interested in a dining set, which Alec proudly boasted was all wood.  After looking closer once he had it on our list of purchases, I noticed it was actually a vaneer.  He swore up and down it was real wood and not vaneer, until he got on the phone with his superior and proceeded to try to convince us it was the best vaneer you can get.  Our bad for not walking out on the entire purchase right there.

One Thursday, August 4th, Alec called to tell us the pieces weren't at their warehouse yet and it would be the following week that we would get it.  OK, we are disappointed, but understanding.  The following week, he calls and says it'll be 3 weeks.  I was upset and called Panama Jack in North Carolina myself, to find out if this man was telling the truth or what.  They told me the furniture had just arrived at the Port in Virginia that morning.  It would be another week and a half before Hanks warehouse received it.   

I called 2 weeks later to find out if my delivery would be soon.  The young lady on the phone said happily that it was in the warehouse and I could have it next Thursday  ( Aug 25th)  YAY!!!   I called the beginning of that week to confirm and my salesman and evidently the store manager as well, Alec, told me that it was a mistake and I couldn't have it until August 2nd.  I was now angry!!  I went to the store myself in person to find out what the heck was going on.  He blamed it on a girl being new and not knowing how to read the computer properly.  He told me the 2nd was the earliest.  I told him I'd not be in town until the 15th, so we set it up for the 15th of September.  

After I left, I decided I would stay up here in town another week to get the bed and dresser on the 2nd, if the delivery spot was still available.  I called him less than an hour later and asked "Alec, did I miss the boat to get them delivered on the 2nd?"  and he said "absolutely not!!  I'll put you on for that day"   And then comes TODAY.....I call to confirm delivery this Friday, and am told its not scheduled until the 15th.  And of course, Alec isn't in today.  I told them to call him and find out what the hell happened??!!   Evidently, the bed isn't even in their warehouse yet.   I will find that out when I call Panama Jack myself after writing this.  More will be revealed!!!   I just called and cancelled the d**n order.  I cancelled 3 doctor appointments in south florida so I could remain up here in Freeport to get these pieces.  NEVER HAVE I EXPEREIENCED ANYTHING LIKE THIS!! EVER!!!   

I asked for an email confirming i cancelled this order.  Of course, Hanks already sent a credit card for me to spend more money with them, i got that within a week of making this purchase.  Thank God I finanaced it and dont have to deal with refunds!!
