On Thursday July 17th we went to Haynes to purchase a family room set as well as a bedroom set for our daughter. We had been in the store many, many times and we already knew exactly what we wanted.

We were greeted by a sales person, after having him write up the sale we went to the computer to do the financing. We had bought furniture from Haynes before and each time we were able to get a certain type of financing ($0 financing, $0 monthly payments for 12 months, $0 down). Even though we had planned from the start to put down $500 the sales person stated that he would be unable to do this and would have to talk with his sales manager.

When the sales manager came over to us he had spoken with the store manager and advised us that he could do the financing as we requested. He himself sat down to put the order in and came up with another problem. He stated that the bedroom set that we wanted for our daughter had been discontinued. We asked the sales manager if he could check his Virginia Beach store. He called and said that the Virginia Beach store only had the floor model and he could not tell if it would be any good.

I had to make the suggestion that he asked a sales person to take a look at it and see. The sales manager at that time began to get upset and blame the sales rep. for telling us that we could get it. He began talking badly about the sales rep. as well as very unprofessional with us.

We then asked to speak with the store manager in which he advised us was not in that day and he would not be in for the rest of the week (before he had told us that it was the store manager that had approved our financing).

We decided that we were tired of dealing with him and went to the customer service desk and they referred us to someone else. The Customer Service Rep. walked us over to another manager who she had previously called on the floor. Before we could get to him he was on the phone making all of the calls necessary and advised us when we got there that everything had been straightened out and to go to our original sales rep to complete the process.

When we got back to the sales rep. we found out that the bedroom set was available and also that the Store Manager was in the building next door. We had spent three hours trying to get some furniture that had already been picked out months ago.

The story does not end there. Since that time we have had three calls from Haynes one stating that they now cannot finance the way that we would like them too and we would have to finance in a different manner. Two is now that our furniture cannot be delivered on the scheduled day because of this and we had to reschedule our delivery. This is where we are right now. I have called several times to speak with the store manager with no help. It is always that he is not in or unavailable. Once we have our furniture, when and if we get it, I will never deal with Haynes again. They have very bad customer service (if they even know what the word means), and they do not honor their contracts.
