Holiday Inn Clearwater Beach - Mr. Toceqville - The Manager Kicked me out of the hotel for reporting a huge cockroach in my room Clearwater Florida

I took a room in this hotel over the last spring break weekend in March. I was accompanied by my young lady. I'm no college student and paid $270/night for a cabana room, one of the best rooms in the Hotel.

I checked in @ 11:30pm and was very tired. When I got to the room, I put my bags down and sat to relax. I started to undress for a shower and then bed. It was at this time that I noticed a huge cockroach on the wall/ceiling near the sliding door to the pool. I was to tired to change rooms, so I called them and made them aware of the bug. I kept my clothes in my bags to minimize the opportunity the insect would have to ride home with me and went to sleep.

I woke up in the morning and went to the front desk at approximately 9 am to implore them to clean the room, since there was this huge bug that I reported the night before. I got nothing but attitude and was told "This is Florida. We have bugs here." I know this since I'm a Florida resident as well. But I don'ht have huge cockroaches living in my house, so I sure as hell don't expect them to be in a $300/night room.

I left to go get some breakfast and supplies for the beach. I returned @ 12:00 noon only to find that they didn't clean the room at all. When I wnet back to the front desk, now pissed off, I was again treated rudely and subsequently told that they would call the police on me if I didn't immediately leave and take my stuff with me.

No service, to repsectful replies to my obvious consternation over the fact that they did nothing to mitigate this bug problem in a $300/night room. And to top it off I was threatened with jail and kicked out of the hotel. I was also CHARGED for my stay. This was the height of arrongance and rudeness.

I don't advocate that ANYONE spend one thin dime in that establishment. It's not clean, it has bugs (big ones) and the staff is rude. Please don't patronize this mess and let them know they can't get away with this type of behavior in the internet age.
