I rented a property from this company in January 2014.  Upon move-in, I was provided with keys that did not work, a garage door opener that didn't work, a house that hadn't been cleaned or the rugs shampooed, nor the yard landscaped front and back among various other items.  The dishwasher leaked water all over the floor from not being properly drained.  I actually had to wait for someone to come to the house with a key so I could get into the property as I had furniture being delivered the next day and then I had to go and make my own keys and pay for that out of pocket

I submitted my move-in checklist and was told that everything on the list would be taken care of via submittal of work orders.  NOT!  Not one item was ever done on the list.  Missing lightbulbs not replaced, landscaping not done and I ended up having to pay out of pocket $200 just for that since the weeds were so high and all over the place.  The vent over the microwave kept falling out and landing on my head.  I was also told an assessment would be done twice a year.  Never completed and I finally got a phone call in October after being there 10 months that someone was going to come and they wouldn't even work with me on the time...since naturally I worked.  They came, they looked, they took picture and commented on how neat and clean the home was and how well we maintained the property.  Long story short about 1 month or so later I received another phone call for an assessment and I said you just did one...the person got snotty and said your lease says we can come 2 a year...and then proceeded to tell me that the previous folks who came did not submit the photos, report etc and they had problems with them so again someone else came out to the property and again how neat and clean everything was.

Also during this timeframe one of the burners went out on the stove and couldn't be used.  When the people came for the home assessment, he informed me that they couldn't get anyone to come out to the area to service the stove cuz they didn't want to come out this far.  So why are you renting a property in an area that no one wants to drive to?  Lo and behold, lucky for me the burner all of a sudden began to work again.

In December I asked for month to mont rent as I was going to begin househunting.  The owner agreed.  I ended finding a home rather quickly and gave notice that I was moving in February.  I was sent a move out checklist like 1 week before I was moving out when they had known all along and said I needed to have the carpets cleaned, clean the house, landscaping, etc.  I didn't think I would have time to do all this but my realtor found me a guy who would clean the carpets for a reasonable price.

I had the landscaping done 2 weeks prior to move out. Homelovers told me I could mail the keys back and I had told them I was keeping them through the March 3 in order to go back to the house and clean it and have carpets cleaned which I did.  Then they told me well you have to return the keys on the 1st otherwise we could charge you rent...after much going back and forth, they found out I was told I could mail the keys back which I did via express mail of $20 since they had gotten me into such a tizzy and also included recepits for the carpet cleaning and the landscaping.

Last week out of an $850 deposit, I get a check for $185 along with a move out assessment list showing that they charged me $150 for a move out assessment, 98 for rekeying and another $200 and some odd for "light janitorial" and they again charged me a landscaping which I had already done.  So my point is if they do 2 assessments a year why is it necessary to charge me $150 upon move out and if they are rekeying...why do I have to return keys which as stated above I paid for.  Why do they even bother to even say you would get a deposit back?  They did nothing on my move in checklist and yet want to hold me to a higher standard when they do not even hold themselves to it.  And to boot, they made the check payable to my Mom who is deceased which I had told them about when I asked for the month to month rental.

Overall, these are items that they did "nothing with" upon move in but charged me for upon move out.  I see a double standard here and they did receive pictures of the dirty carpet and all items within the home that might come up later.  I do not recommend these folks to anyone.  In fact, I think the folks who list their properties with should find someone else to represent them.
