We have been talking to a realtor about putting our house up for sale. The problem is we have this account with HFC. When we got the loan 3 years ago, we were never asked to do an appraisal of the house or anything. They just loaned us the money and now we owe more than the house is worth and are stuck. After hearing of this site and looking at some of these other complaints, I went back and got our paperwork. After paying 535.00/mo. for 3 yrs, our balance is only 1700.00 less than when we started. I have called HFC several times and asked if they can lower our interest rate, to no avail. They sent me forms to fill out to refinance our 1st mortgage in with it. NO WAY! They won't do anything to try to help us, and nobody else can either because of them. Very frustrated!
