HSBC Mastercard Company wants to raise my interest to 30% Buffalo New York

I have had a perfect credit card record for 3 years since my bankruptcy - never a day late on my payments. I received HSBC Mastercard by accident when I tried to apply for store credit ("no payments for 18 months") at Best Buy store and instead, received in the mail a HSBC Mastercard. I was furious because I already had multiple credit cards I was trying to pay off.

When I phoned HSBC to cancel, the nice girl convinced me to keep it and she waived the silly annual fee. So I kept the card begrudgingly. Now it's 12 months later and I've decided to pay all but one credit card, Wamu (because they don't play around).

Before I decided to pay off HSBC, I tried to get a Credit Line increase from them. That led to a bad letter to me that they amended our agreement and will raise my interest rate to 30%. That's ridiculous! I know from my past banking experience that rate is reserved for the non-payers. If my credit was so bad, why did they take me in the beginning? It wasn't too bad then and it is sure a lot better now.

At least their bold move made my job easy on who gets cut next and now they're paid off. I feel bad for all the folks out there who got drowned by HSBC and now shot with high interest like they tried to do to me. By the time their amened agreement for 30% starts, this will long be closed. HSBC does not care if I never again do business with them again. All of their annoying ads on TV want you to think they are the "World's Bank".

I can't believe I fell for HSBC their advertising and invested in their online checking account. What a joke! It takes 3 business days for them to do any transaction. I will be dumping that soon as well.
