HUNTER RENTALS ADDED CHARGES TO MOVE OUT AFTER CHECKING THEM AS OK & CHARGING FOR THINGS NOT BELONGING TO US KILLEEN Texas

We had problems with Hunter Rentals from the begining. I was told by a women who works there, if I didn't like the service then buy my own house! I was outraged, but I did just that. When our lease was coming to an end we were sent a lease renewal. Of course we laughed, while thinking of the garbage sitting on the back porch that smelled like a carcas. It had been there for over a month and repeated calls to the rental company did nothing.

The 1st of july fell on a sunday, the next day my husband went to turn in our 30 day notice. When he got there he was told by the woman at the front desk that he would not be able to turn a notice because it had to be done on the 1st. She then told him that his rent was due. He then told the lady that he didn't want any more problems and just wanted to give the notice. She laughed and said well you should've turn it in before today. He asked for the manager that then came out and said it would be o.k because it was the 2nd day of the month and sunday was the first. My husband added the fact that July has 31 days also. He then told them this was one of the reasons why we purchased our own home.

We then set up a date for move out that was later changed by the company, only to cut us a day short. We went to the move-out inspection, we were shown a sheet which showed only minor things like the plastic stars on the ceiling in a room and a small stain on the carpet. We were told that everything looked fine and that we couldnt have a copy of the move out but we would be sent a copy along with our deposit. We never got our deposit back and was charged an extra $200.00 or more.

I was upset and wanted to see what work was done on the apt. that would cost me my full deposit and then some. So I had a friend of mind check out the key and we went a look at the apt. with the lady at the counter assuring her that its ready if she likes the apt.

Well not to our surprise nothing was done in the apt. well they did knock about 10 plastic stars off the ceiling. The company told us that our deposit would be placed in an interest bearing account. But when we contacted them about the charges they just made many excuses money being one of them. They also charged us for carpet cleaning that was already done, a trash can that didn't belong to us, and for electric turned back on to clean the place but hadn't cleaned anything. But yet the apt was placed on the ready/available now list.

The company has done everthing but be honest and make one excuse after another. We did get video of some of the events that have taken place and will hopefully see them in court.
