Newly Engaged couples BEWARE, Royal Prestige aka World Enterprise Inc, or HyCite target Bridal Shows and lure you in with a free trip.

This nightmare started when I received a phone call from Sarah at World Enterprise Inc. saying I had won a free trip and 40% discount on the companys products. All I had to do was bring my fiance and listen to a 90 min. seminar. I won this from registering at a bridal show.

My fiance and I attended the seminar on February 27, 2003. First of all we were lured to World Enterprise Inc for a free trip.

The room we were sitting in had several tables setup with China, crystal, flatware, cookware and cutlery displayed. There was a sign that said Royal Prestige setup on the table as well. When the other couples arrived I spoke with them and asked if they had any idea about the company or what the seminar was about and they also said no. They said that they had signed up at the bridal show also.

Then Bruce came in and said to start off we would watch a video to learn more about the company and the Royal Prestige products. The video also had several doctors saying that waterless cookware was better for you and can reduce the risk of heart attacks, cancer, and high cholesterol. This is not proven and is a LIE!! There were also physical trainers on saying how healthy the products were.

After the video Bruce brought out various pots and pans that are normally used in the kitchen, an iron skillet, aluminum pot, stainless steel, Teflon, and other commonly seen cookware. These example pieces looked like that had been run over or hit with a hammer.

He pulled out a warning from the Teflon manufacture saying not to heat the pan to a certain temperature as is was know to kill baby birds. He then read articles again about different metals used in making cookware and emphasized how unhealthy they all were compared to the Royal Prestige product.

He then told us about the free trip we had won. The trip only included hotel for 2 nights and 3 days. Airfare, food, and extra activities were not included. But he went on to say if you purchase today you would receive an all-inclusive trip not including air fare to 1 of 3 destinations to choose from. But that was only if you made a purchase today. The so called deal was only valid for that one day. He also emphasized that most couples have the balance paid off before their wedding date by others who can purchase towards your place settings. It is set up kind of like a wedding registry.

He then asked how $80 dollars a month sounded. We agreed that was to expensive. Then he came back with what about $60 a month. My fiance and I told him I had been recently laid-off and my fiances job was not stable right now therefore we would like to look into the possibility of the registry. He then told us you had to purchase first you could not register for the products unless you purchase them. Then family members would send money towards paying off the balance. I thought that was a little tricky and deceitful.

He then handed me a form and asked me to fill it out. We asked to be left alone to think about it. I wrote my name and Social Security number and then my fiance and I decided against it. I asked him to tell him we decided against it because he was intimidating to me. When he came back over my fiance told him we had decided against it. I scratched my Social security number out and waded up the form.

Bruce then proceeded to press more and ask why. He said that I thought we were over the financial matter and got through that. He said that most couples have the balance paid off before the wedding any way by friends and family. He asked what our wedding date was and we told him June 28th. He said what if the payments were postponed until August and the product shipped in July then he said I could have found a job by then and we may be able to afford it. We still said we did not think so and we could always come back and purchase later.

He said the deal would not be on then and that he could give us a small set that had not been used but been on display for $990 with the payment still being postponed. That did not include the cutlery though just the small Health System.

It was then after 10:00pm and we wanted to get out of there so we decided to purchase so we could go home.

I filled out the form but did NOT list any account numbers just names. The form was on a clipboard and had duplicate copies underneath. I was never told there was a back to the document therefore was unaware of what the back said. The document did say you could cancel the purchase within 3 days before midnight with a written letter. It was worded deceitfully and was hard to understand. I did not completely fill out the form but signed and dated it with the understanding I could cancel with in 3 days.

Then Bruce filled out the order form. He then COVERED up the form and left my information visible and asked if it was correct. I told him it was. Then he uncovered the order part displaying all the products we were to be receiving and asked if that was correct. He then showed us the total and added sales tax and shipping and asked if we would like to put a down payment on the balance we said NO. The bottom portion was still COVERED. He then took the order signed his portion and then asked me to sign and date it, I did. He then took the order and the customer copy of the form filled out previously and put it in an envelope. He then put the envelope and vacation deals in a folder and handed it to us and we left.

The next morning my fiance called and we agreed to cancel the order. My fiance looked up Royal Prestige and discovered they had an unsatisfactory record with the Better Business Bureau. Then I decided to call the Corp office and spoke with someone in customer service who said I could cancel if I wrote a letter and sent it before the 3rd day at midnight. I typed up a letter and went to the post office. I sent the letter I typed, signed and dated along with the vacations and discount information express mail on 2/28/03 back to World Enterprise Inc with Attention to Bruce.

Then I decided to call Bruce again to let him know we wished to cancel the order. I actually reached him this time and told him who I was and that I had sent a letter saying I wished to cancel the order. He then proceeded to tell me that it was a non-cancelable agreement. I told him I read on the form that it was cancelable if a letter was sent before midnight on the 3rd day and I was well within my limits. I told him I just sent a letter expressing my wishes to cancel and sent the vacation and discount information back. He said that he could send that back and that I had until July to come up with the money and that there was no way to cancel. I then said that the office was not marked with Royal Prestige therefore I would cancel he then said that it was not Royal Prestige but World Enterprise Inc and that it was his place of business and I could not cancel.

I then hung up and called HyCite the corporate headquarters listed on the form and spoke again with a customer service representative. She told me they were the distribution company and I would have to work it out with the representative that put on the seminar.

I spoke with my fiance again after he got off work and then left another voice mail for Bruce saying I had more questions and to please contact me when he received the message.

Bruce returned my call the next day 3/1/03 at 10:43. I ask him again how I could cancel the order and he said it was a non cancelable agreement and that they have separate forms and orders for outside of business sales. He also said if the order had been made outside the office like a door to door sale it could have been canceled.

I then asked him why he did not tell us the contract was non cancelable and ask why he with held this vital information. I told him if we would have known that we would not have purchased the items or signed anything. He said the information was clearly stated on the order. I then asked him why he covered up the order when he went over the information. That was misleading and deceitful.

I then asked him again personally how I could cancel the agreement. It was to my understanding that he initially took the order and then sold the contract to the corporate headquarters, HyCite. He said that it did not work like that so I asked him again how I could cancel the order and told him this time that I did not want the product. He then offered a buy-out of the contract. He said I could pay 25% of the unpaid balance and it would go away. I told him that it was still a lot of money and I would think about it.

I asked him if he would go lower than 25% and he said no that the seminars cost him and the company money and they needed to profit as well. He told me I had until June 1st to let him know and if he had not heard from me he would process the order and the full amount would then be due 2518.50 (this includes sales price 2100.90, freight and handling 153.30, and sales tax 175.20). I then ask him if I could contact him if I had any more questions and he said I could.

After getting off the phone with him I talked again with my fiance and decided to call back to get Bruce to put the buy-out in writing. I called back at 11:58 on 3/1/03 and asked Bruce if he would put the buy-out in writing. He said he would NOT and that if we were to head in that direction he would instruct me to write a letter and would tell me what it needed to say. He said that would be a waste of time and he would not do it. I then ask him how I was supposed to trust his word. To my knowledge he could deny he ever offered the buy-out come June. He said the offer still stood and I had his word on it. Which basically left me the same place I started.
