I Shop For You Steven Howellin Michaels & Associates, LTD Ripoff soliciting with large cashier's check made out to consumer for $4850.00 for shopping services rendered Canada, I Believe Internet

I received a letter from I Shop For You, without a return address but postage from Canada. Inside was a letter soliciting mystery shoppers. It included a cashier's check for $4,850.00 for me to cash for shopping expenses.

The letter had no return address but just a phone number which was also a fax line. On the check it was made by Presidio Bank of San Francisco Ca, 1-888-360-9571. After calling the bank to see if this was a legitimate account, I got a hold of a very nervous customer service agent who put me on hold and then proceeded to dis connect me.

When calling back I just got an answering machine. I looked up the company on line which has a letter of dispute on their website because apparently I Shop For You is a legitimate company but a fraudulant company is using their site and logo to send people cashier's checks for the consumer to cash and then wire 2 money grams out as part of the mystery shopping service. One is asked to western union $2600.00 and to Money gram $1280.00 with other funds being towards fees and purchases at WalMart and the Gap. When funds are received then the fraudulant company puts a stop on the check that you have already deposited into your account. There fore you are out all of the monies you have wired to who knows where!

Do not respond to this mailed out letter. It is truly a scam and you will be out lots of money. I think I may have gotten it sent to me for signing up for home based business information. Be aware.
