Many people are familiar with deals involving free trials and cancelation policies. I've taken part in these before and have always been attentive tothe terms so as not to get stuck in a situation of my own stupidity. This experience, however, was full of deliberate miscommunication, flase assurances and terms, and illogical requirements.

I got a call from someone trying to sell me a product to help with weight loss. Now, I've dealt with trial periods from telemarketers before and had no issues when I was careful. Since there was a 14 day trial period, he convinced me to pay a few dollars to try a product. I would told I'd be charged in full for the product after the 14 days if I didn't call them to cancel it. I've done this sort of thing before, so I agreed. This phone call was at the end of December or beginning of January. He told me it would be shipped soon and tried to give me a phone number that I'd have to call them on. I asked him, right then and there, since I was not in a position to record a phone number, if the product would come with contact information

By January 21st, I had not yet recieved the product in the mail. Due to the coming snow storm, I went down to stay with family in Northern Virginia. When I returned on the 28th the package was in the mail. This means it arrived sometime between the 22nd and 28th. Now, my credit card shows I was charged the FULL cost AFTER the trial period on the 23th of January. Which means at the time of the charge my trial owuld have been two days at best, or not even started, when I was charged. Not only that, but there was NO paperwork and no phone number in order to contact them about it.

When I called customer service on the number on my credit card charge, they simply replied that I had made an agreement and was told to call with issues. Customer service did not care if the telemarketer had provided false promises about my access to such information that would allow me to call them. Additionally, they didn't care that I hadn't even had the product long enough to have a 14 day trial to charge past. They refused to give me the number to call the customer serivice number that was supposed to have been given to me with the product. The best they could give me was 50% or returning the product within 30 days of them MAILING it, nevermind I hadn't even had the product in my hands for a full week yet. Under normal cercumstances, though completely unreasonable, I could have mailed it back. However, I am out of state again, and cannot make sure it is back to them within 6 days when I don't know when I'll even be back to my apartment. So the best I could get was spending $40 I never intended, not even on fault of my own, but because the company was deceptive and didn't seem to adhere to their own policies.

Also, note that I could not find a website asscociated with this company. The best I could find was an address on Bizdirectory.com. I only knew the state of teh company because they had given me a return mailing address. So aside from the phone number of my credit card statement, I would have NO way of contacting this company at all.

For those of you who feel savy at dealing with trial periods, BEWARE of this one. They will make it as difficult as possible for you so you'll get stuck with unwanted chargers.
