I don't know whether this company is legitimate or not, but I know their on-line, work at home jobs are a scam.

The facts are these:

First I received an email from someone in the Corporate Human Resources department indicating that they saw my resume and have several work at home opportunities available in data entry, accounting, bookeeping, customer service, etc.  It uses the term "Prospective Applicant", tells you to contact their representative by Yahoo messenger IM Chat and offers a high hourly but does not specify where they saw your resume.

In about a week, the person mentioned in the email contacts you by text on your cell phone.  This time your are addressed by name and the site where they found your resume is indicated.  If you agree to speak to the person you are told to log into Yahoo Messenger so that you can chat online because the company is not located in the US.  Once online the person tells you about the company, the positions they are recruiting for and if agreeable, conducts an online job interview where you are asked real job interview questions.

After the job interview, the interviewer tells you that you did fine but that they have to contact their Human Resources Dept for approval.  You are told to log back in to Yahoo Messenger in a day or so.  Once you log in, the interviewer tells you "Congratulations, you are now an employee of India Healthcare Solutions".   Subsequently, you are told that they will be providing you with a laptop and internet connection but you need to purchase software costing $973.12 that is fully reimburseable once you complete the 5-day online course.  Someone from the company even sends you a congratulatory email and an employment agreement form.

They tell you to send the money for the software through Western Union to their software vendor and that once you complete this, you will be getting the laptop.  Subsequently, you receive an email from someone else in the company telling you that you need to purchase $2650 for software to track your time while you are working at home.  You are told to send this money to the same vendor using Western Union and are again assured that this money is fully reimburseable.

On the following day, your interviewer tells you that you will be introduced to the supervisor who will be conducting your online training.  This supervisor then tells you that your present home equipment is not sufficient and you need to purchase $7800 in office equipment to complete your job duties for the company.

As this point you can go in either one of two directions, either pay or refuse.  I refused to pay and requested that the money that I had paid for the software be returned to me.  I was told that it would be refunded to me after the holidays ended.

In the meantime, however, the company decided to send me what they said was a cashier's check for $7800 to purchase the office equipment.  They then wanted me to deposit the check and then immediately wire money to their vendor to purchase the office equipment.  Instead I called the bank on which the check was written.  This bank indicated they had not issued the $7800 check I received from the company.

This is the extent of my communications with India Healthcare Solutions.  I have never received the laptop.  I have not worked 1 hour with this company.  But most importantly, the approximately $4000 I spent has not been returned.

One last word, I recently an email from a company calling itself "The Economist Group Limited" located in London that is identical to the one I initially received from India Healthcare Solutions.  The only difference in the name of the contact person.
