I filed a claim with Allstate for hail damage. I had a check for damages in hand within a few days thereafter.  Because we have a mortgage on the property, the mortgage company was listed as one of the endorsees on the check from the insurance company. To get the mortgage company (FirstLand Mortgage of Oklahoma) endorsement on the check, I learned that use a service called InsuranceClaimCheck.com to collect all related documents AND insurance payments related to the insurance claim. This service verifies the claim amount, the repair contract amount, the W-( form(s) for contractor(s) hired to perform repairs, they disburse insurance funds, once all is verified.

It has taken one month for this process to occur, i.e. send them a check, fill out the forms to actually recive the funds back. It seems evident that the "game" for this company is to hold consumer's funds as long as possible, though "processes", errors and delays. While the company's staff that I dealt with were always highly professional, they were largely useless. They are trained to hide behind words like "up to 5 business days for a check to verified and deposited," or "up to 5 business days for the contrctor W-9 to be verified with the IRS," and "up to 5 days for a disbursement request to be processed," and 7-10 days for a check to be processed and mailed." The timeframes, especially when added up, are ridiculous.

In my case, I submitted all requested documents, and the signed insurance check between 8-23-17 and 9-1-17. I though all was complete, and I was waiting for my check.  On 9-11-17, I logged on to my account, and they had flipped one of the documents submitted as "received" to "rejected". Of course, no one told me, I had to discover this. I called to find out what this meant and was told that they don't accept electronic signatures on W-9s. When I challenged the fact that they had already said the documents submitted were accepted., and asked why I was not told when they received the doucment, they got a supervisor to override that requirement. But the waiting times didn't start until that day. I called almost daily, and was always told there was no way to identify where a particular check request was in the queue, within each process along the way. Several times I was told they would call me back wuith status updates, and they never did.

As of 9-18-17, I am still waiting for a disbusrement check. This morning I was told, that they will make an exception in the disbursement process, and cut the check tomorrow, and send it out overnight (at my expense), so I should expect the check on 9-20-17. I have low confidence at this point. To me this is ridiculous to get funds from a check that I had in my possession before I sent it to InsuranceClaimCheck.com.

It appears that InsuranceClaimCheck.com is just a big scam to hold people's insurance claim checks as long as they can. I will be filing a complaint with my mortgage company as well, urging them to discontinue use this service.
