first you are contacted by this peterdaniel, via email to be a representative for a company overseas. they don't have payment centers in USA so you are getting paid 10% to help with the transaction. you are mailed a form of payment-treasury bill, american express gift cheque and you are to cash it. then you email peter daniel for further instruction. you are instructed to take your 10% and wire the remaining money to two separate people in the UK. that's it. the catch is, these cheques or treasury bills whatever they send are really good conterfeits, to the regular eye, and even the banks eye. so it takes about 1-3 weeks for the bank or american express to figure these are counterfeit. the trick is you take these cheques to your bank to cash them, at your bank you will be asked to show some form of ID or swipe your check card, by doing so you are making yourself accountable for the funds if they don't clear. when this happens 2 weeks after you have wired the money, you have not avenue to recoop your money except going to the authorities. THESE PEOPLE ARE REALLY GOOD AT SCAMMING, PETER WILL EVEN CALL YOU, TO GIVE THE PERSONAL TOUCH. THE ADDRESS FROM SENDERS ARE LEGIT AND SEEM LIKE SOMEONE WHO WOULD DO BUSINESS WITH INTERFACE FABRICS, I WAS SCAMMED BY SOMEONE CLAIMING TO BE AFFLIATED WITH A HOTEL-COMFORT INNS. IF YOU STILL WANT TO TRY IT, CALL ALL NUMBERS GIVEN AND ASK TO SPEAK WITH THE PERSON SENDING YOU THE CHECK BEFORE YOU DO ANYTHING. PLEASE BECOME A VICTIM LIKE ME.

Don't get scammed

AUTHOR: Darren - (U.S.A.)

POSTED: Friday, July 13, 2007

I just got my travelers checks today. The thing is I know they don't come in 500 $ increments. The trick is to have the bank teller check them before you do anything, that way your not liable. And don't sign them until the bank manager confirms that they are not fake, that way the bank is liable if they turn out fake. The last time and only time I got these checks they were real and cashable. luckily this time I checked before I did anything. I turned them over to the bank and gave them a copy of my e-mail and let the bank notify the proper authorities. Never again, don't get scammed yourself.................
