International Palms Resort Don't waste your time or money staying at this dump!!! Cocoa Beach , Florida

My sisters and I went to Cocoa Beach, Fl for a two day stay at the International Palms Resort. It is located at 1300 N. Atlantic Ave. We had several things wrong with our stay. For starters, there are no elevators to get upstairs, so if you have bad knees like I do, or are elderly you wont want to stay here. We had to force our door open to get into the room. Then we had to force the door closed but then found out we couldnt lock the door with the double bolt lock. We then called the front desk, and told them it wasnt safe for us to be in there. We were afraid we wouldnt be able to get out in time if there was a fire. We asked to be moved to a different room, but were told instead that the door would be fixed. The maintenance came up to fix the door, but never got it right, plus he sprayed the frame of the door and the smell was so bad, I got sick and started vomiting. I was already sick, but that made everything worse.

However, we also found out that the curtains wouldnt close all the way, the air conditioner didnt work properly, so the room stayed to warm, the television was snowy as well the phone, which made it hard to understand what they were saying when we called the front desk. The beds were as hard as a rock. We toss and turned all night, so between the door not being secure, and the beds being so unconvertible no one got much rest. When we got up, we found a bug in the shower. We were suppose to have a microwave in the room but didnt . The refrigerator was on the floor instead of being built in, and it didnt work very well. My sister had put a complete meal in it hoping to eat it later, but the maid service threw her dinner away. On top of all that, the room was very small, the sink was cracked, and the bathtub was chipped and looked dirty. The faults were rusty too. There was real old looking thin comforters on the beds. We called again and asked for my money back, but was told they could not do that. I asked about canceling our reservation, but was told we had to give them a 24 hour notice and would be charged the full amount for a one night stay. So, we were stuck there. They charged me $265.00 for only two nights in a dump. The only thing they did do was they moved us the next day in the afternoon, to a room on the first floor. That room was better, but still not very nice. This hotel needs to be condemned!!! The carpet in the lobby was even filthy dirty.

They had a sign up about remodeling, but there were no signs of any remodeling going on anywhere !! I have traveled a lot, and stayed in some hotels that werent as nice as many others, but I have never stayed and will never stay again in such a dump as this one. Other hotels would have given me a full refund, this one however wouldnt give me a dime back. Ours was not the only complaint they had. I heard others complaining about several things wrong with their rooms too. DONT WASTE YOUR TIME OR MONEY STAYING AT THIS DUMP!!!!
