I signed up with ITPVOIP due to a website which indicated how cheap it was and it was supposed to be #1 in customer service and so on.

The basic plan was supposed to be $9.95 a month
Problem #1 Later I found even tho operating in Canada, the price was in USD.

Problem #2 - No activation charge was indicated except apparently in the small print of the articles of service which no one reads and of course I should have. However there was an activation charge of $29.95, again USD.

Problem #3 - Free Phone Adapter. I always thought FREE was FREE. I was charged shipping of $19.95 and Activation fee of $29.95 so the adapter was definitely not free. AND if you cancel you must return your "FREE" adapter.

Problem #4 - They say they give a free month. However by the time you get the adapter and get set up .... [they give you a temporary phone number until yours is ported], it is only a few days. I believe about a week.

PROBLEM #5 - Even though I told them to port the number I found out later that it was not even mentioned to Vonage that they were porting the number thereby making me pay another month with Vonage of $22.xx for NO SERVICE I could use. Once I reminded them again to port the number, they told me they did not have the other company bill. Then when they found out that I had sent it to them, they said I didn't fill out a transferring number request. In other words no matter was done by me something was missing even tho they did not tell me what I had to do.

When you complain about the hidden fees to customer service they tell you it is buried in the terms of service [where of course few people look].

I have had numerous problems with the service including when my friends called they received 1 ring and it went to voicemail even tho I have it set to 6 rings. Just found that out today.

I wondered why I was getting so many voicemail emails. Why couldn't people just get through?

I told the customer service agent that these were the problems with the way they advertise their service ...

IMHO or in MY OPINION, hiding charges is deceptive and somewhat fraudulent.
I am looking for a better VOIP but now am also waiting for the ADAPTER I purchased to come so I can then hook up with someone else.

AUTHOR: ITP - (United States of America)

POSTED: Wednesday, April 21, 2010

ITP is an American company, therefore all charges are in U.S. Dollars.

There is a one time activation fee and although ITP does not charge for the adapter, shipping charges do apply. These charges are stated clearly upon signup.

With respect to porting numbers, ITP has no control as to when a number gets ported over. A number is expected to port in approximately 15 days or less. If the subscriber does not complete and submit all required forms correctly, the port process can be delayed.

With regards to your voicemail complaint, ITP technicians had instructed you on numerous occasions to make a setting change which would have corrected the issue, but you refused to listen to them.

There are no hidden fees. All charges are on our website and state clearly when you sign up.
