I have been conducting business with this company (Japan Direct Import Service) for over three years. They provide new and used vehicle parts. So whenever I get request for parts I would email them with the vehicle's specification, and the parts that are requested. They would in turn email me diagrams of such parts,let me know if they are available and the quotation. I would then indicate exactly which parts are needed. After a final invoice is sent, I would send the money through telegraphic transfer and send a copy of the transfer by fax or scan the document and attach it to an email. They would then start processing my order and send it by UPS.

On June 7th, of 2005, I send this company US$3004.29 through the Royal Bank Of Canada for the purchase and shipping of parts for a Nissan Skyline car. This was the largest transaction I had ever done with them. To date however, I have not received the parts or been refunded my money. For over a year I have been calling, faxing, emailing these people requesting my money back. I even send them a fedex with copies of the transaction, my banking information and a note asking them to kindly refund the money to me.

They have used every means to try and stall me - from the reason the parts were not shipped is because they were damaged and they have to wait on the insurance to process the claim. When time had elasped and they could not tell me why my money was not refunded, an employee in the company (Munehiro Takahashi) claimed that his boss was away on business and I would have to wait until he returned.

When they still had not contacted me after I emailed them numerous times, I then call them only to be told by Mr Takahashi that he had not been getting my emails and his emails to me were returned, he suggested I use another computer to contact him. Which I did although I thought it strange that he was the only one of my contacts not receiving my mails, and emails send to his address were never returned.

I tried contacting him from other computers I also created new email addresses and wrote to him, still no response. I knew they were lying, I then decided to test my theory. So I used a fictitious name and created an email account. I then email them claiming I was from the UK and wanted to do business with them, I asked about their business procedures.

I immediatley got a detailed response from Mr Kato (the boss). The same Mr Kato that Mr Takahashi had claimed was unavailable when I had call for him because he was away on business. I later asked Mr Takahashi, if he had indeed received my fedex and he said yes, but he needed to communicate with me further before he refunded the money to me. I told him I will try and get in touch with him, I said this knowing that I had just proven that he was receiving mails from my new account. So I emailed him from this account and told him that the person that emailed him was in fact a cousin of mine living in the UK. I told him that I have asked this cousin to find out from them what is it they wanted to tell me before they transfer the money since they were not receiving my emails.

After I realized that they were not responding to this email, I emailed them again from the account I created. I then told them that I was very angry and that they have been acting very unprofessional, and it seems they have no intention to refund my money. Mr Takahashi immmediatley responded and said they have been nothing but professional and courteous to me and he was not aware what I had wanted until he received the fedex from me, he said he never understood what I said to him on the phone, and he could not contact me through emails and my faxes to him were always incomplete. In any case he has always heard his boss said that he was going to refund the money back to me. However, his boss (Mr Kato) was away on business and was expected back on the 7th of May and they would transfer the funds to me by the 15th at the latest. Since then I have called this company, I have emailed them numerous times but have not received any response to date.

PS - Please note that I have available copies of everything that took place. Including emails I wrote and their responses, receipt of the wire transfer and fedex receipt and copies of what I had sent in the fedex.
