I took my Honda Civic to Japanese Car Care (JCC) today because a friend recommended it as the place to take japanese cars. JCC claimed to be a very honorable and reputatable place and used all new OEM parts in its work. I was quoted $505 for a timing belt replacement. I asked several times for a written estimate and they refused saying that was against their policy. I later found out that was illegal and the State of Florida require a written estimate be provided for work costing over $100.

Then the mechanic breaks a coverplate and say if I wanted them to fix it, they would charge me an additional $25. I was like the timing belt area has never been taken apart, how can the coverplate be be broken. Then I was told again, if you want it fixed, it would cost you an additional $25. I was like forget, put back the part broken.

In the end when I went to pay the bill, they added an additional $11. I asked what that was for and that was not the quote I was given. I was told that it was shop fees which is taxes required by Dade County. I said I don't think so and he insisted it was required by law. I paid the fee and left. When I went home and did some online research, "shop fee" is not a tax required by Dade County. It's an extra fee the shop wants to charge.

Afterward, within a month time, my car had metal grinding noise, loss of power, slow accleration, the big puddle of liquid under my... parked car, and now there was white smoke coming from the engine. Also, the A/C was not cooling like it use to. I attempted to contact the owner, but the company only responded to a negative review on Yelp.com. Apparently they only cared about the image of its reputation and not necessary living up to it. The owner responded that I should pay them to cover the towing and that was fair to them. I told them I should not have to incur for any additional cost for their work that was apparently done wrong. My car had never had any problems before it was taken in to JCC. And now all of a sudden all of these problems occurred. The owner attempted to blame it on the car being old, the battery being bad, or whatever else.

The company denies being responsible even after I found out one of the belts they put in was for a Porsche. I have a Honda by the way and the belt was not interchangable - too big for the Honda. Like a shoe that's too big and trying to stuff tissues in it to fit, but they still forced it to fit.

After over a month of going back and forth with JCC to be responsible for the work, I had to take my car some place else. I have no other car and trying to drive a car with smoke coming out of the engine was not only bad for the car to cause more damage, but also very unsafe. One shop replaced the alternator belt which is also the same belt for the A/C. But it did not have the tool to redo the timing belt work which also was attached with the water pump. Another place (a Honda dealership) redid the work for the timing belt and water pump. The water pump was not OEM. In addition to that, it appeared to be a used water pump.

This place relies on illegal and deceptive practices to do their business. Uses incorrect and inferior parts. Can't be trusted. They had other negative reviews and the owner, Denise Nunez, responds to them stating they were not real customers or the person must have the wrong place. There is alot of denial and avoidance of responsibility from this place. They also appear to give themselves alot of fake positive reviews to pump up their own ratings or hide negative reviews for some review sites that have that option.

Be Responsible For Your Actions

AUTHOR: - ()

POSTED: Tuesday, May 10, 2016

Sounds like another friend or probably just the owners posing up another fake comment for themselves (Carlos A. Nunez, Carlos Freddy Nunez, and Denise Castro Nunez). If this place was so "honest" why create another corporation under a similar name with the State of Florida in 2013? Look it up, www.sunbiz.org for Japanese Care Care (under "Japanese Car Care LLC" and "Japanese Car Care Specialists LLC) after all this started in 2012?

Coincidentally this "consumer comment" is around the same time this company had to pay for another year for its second company under a similar name and exact same location. Also, this has been the only website this company had not been able to bury or hide. At this point, they lost whatever profit it made from my business. The State of Florida website states that creating another company does not devoid a business of its liabilities, in short they can still be sued.

All they had to do was do the job right in the first place since this is suppose to be their profession and be honest about what they are doing and putting into my car. The only people being cheap is Japanese Car Care by using non-OEM parts, substituting parts that don't fit or appear to be used/broken, and who knows what else when that was not what was agreed upon.

Maybe this place is rolling the dice to see if they get caught or can get away with it. Maybe they have gotten away with it so much, it doesn't bother them at all as long as they get away with it and make money. Maybe for every 100 scammed, only 10 find out, and from that only 1 may sue or report them.

Sadly this type of actions can cause serious injury not only on the car, but to someone's or people's lives including death. It's one thing to make another mistake, it's another to continue to cover up for something done intentionally.

When one party ask for a legal product/service and another agrees to provide for the product service for payment under certain terms and conditions, this is called a contract, a legally binding agreement. If this is not what they wanted to follow, then all they had to do was decline to provide the service or disclose/be upfront about what they would like to do or put in instead for both parties to agree. This was not the case as I did not agree to the parts they used in my car. I was very specific about the work and the parts and this was printed on the receipt.

Fraud is defined as a false misrepresentation or concealment of material facts to deceive another in order to gain something of value where these actions caused harm to the other party.

Japanese Car Care are the best out there!

Clearly this AUTHOR: Kit K can not be trusted as she wrote the same review over many platforms word for word. After taking my car there for service and experiencing the great customer service, this author is SPAM.

It is amazing how many people are cheap when it comes to services or repairing their vehicle. Do you not realize this is what takes you to work, pickup the kids or any other way you use the transportation?

The original author should be banned from ever using this site again.

11/30/2012 - Response to Rebuttal (same date)

Ms. Denise Nunez, who is in charge of "marketing" for her company, understandably will do whatever it takes fix its image. I am very sorry Ms. Nunez has to make up so many different stories to explain why a former customer is continuing to write negative reviews of her company, Japanese Car Care. There is no "secret conspiracy" by your competitors or "newspaper reporting" or "blogging profession" or "mystery shopping" of your business or whatever else Ms. Nunez thinks of in her creative "marketing mind."

The simple truth is that Japanese Car Care was dishonest about the parts they said they would put in my car, new OEM parts for a 2003 Honda Civic. Shortly after Japanese Car Care's work, the car started having multiple issues. I offered this company the opportunity to repair its mistakes, intentional or not.

However, this company was only interested in telling me the cost to tow the car and giving me estimates to repair the car. They gave alot of excuses of what was wrong with the car and apparently it was not because of their work. Eventually, being without a safely functioning car, I had to go to 2 different mechanic shops to find out what happened. The 2 other mechanics just redid Japanese Car Care's work. It was discovered and documented by the other repair shops that non-OEM parts were used - that were of incorrect size - and of questionable quality and condition.

I am not the first customer to give this company a negative review - I am not the last person to give this company a negative review - and I am not the only person to give this company negative reviews. It's quite ironic how Ms. Nunez published a plan to cover up all of her company's negative reviews by drowning them with a bunch of "positive" reviews. If this company had nothing to hide, it would not have to resort to such dishonest tactics.

Please, Ms. Nunez, tell the truth.

1. AAA conducted its review about having signs up in the shop, never inspected my car, and quickly closed out before my car was repaired by the other two mechanics to find out what happened.

2. Miami Dade County only acted as an arbitrator in which Japanese Car Care would only settle if all online reviews were removed from the public so that no one would know what this company did.

3. Better Business Bureau is awaiting for copies of my invoices.

4. All of the invoices are originals and unaltered.

5. If I have to go to other mechanic shops to redo the work, it would be expected that it would cost more money. If Japanese Car Care cost $550 (with shop fees and taxes), then it would make sense that to redo the same job 2 times over again would cost about $1,300 because they also were trying to figure out what happened. This obviously would take slightly more time than just a straight forward timing belt, alternator belt, power steering belt, and water pump change.

6. Japanese Car Care never addressed that it had the new and correct OEM parts to redo the job. It also never even addressed that they originally installed non-OEM parts in my car despite telling me over and over that they were using all new OEM parts specific to my car. These parts and the labor to redo the work by far exceed some $15 wiper blades and $25 cover.

Sadly, this company has to wait to be sued before it would just be responsible for its work. Public records show that Japanese Car Care has been sued multiple times, even for $80.

If a customer has to go through this much grief and work for Japanese Car Care to do the right thing, it would be fair for a customer to warn others so they don't have to go through the same problems with this place.

If Carlos Nunez and Denise Nunez really believed they are such good and honest people, they would know the truth will set them free. Also that they should not do to others what they would not like to have done to them. The harm that you cause others will always come back to you.

Kitty **** is not a customer of Japanese Car Care but Is a participator in the new era of fake reviews. Watch Out for Kitty ****! She will damage your online reputation!!

AUTHOR: Japanese Car Care - (United States of America)

POSTED: Friday, November 30, 2012

Disarming Kiity **** against Japanese Car Care in Miami a very "reputable auto repair shop", by customer standards.

THE TRUTH
Ms. Kiity ****, Secret Shopper, was sent to our business in May of 2012.  She was a suspicious character from the moment of arrival, starting off by giving a PO Box address instead of a physical one.  A P.O. Box used for personal matters offers anonymity, someone who is withholding information. This is a cause for Red Flag.  Because of this, Carlos Nunez, president, chose to supervise the service she requested, personally.

Ms. **** requested a timing belt replacement which entails of 3 drive belts, one timing belt, water pump and coolant flush.  The price of $505.00,not including tax or shop supplies, was communicated. She approved verbally and authenticated by signature.  She chose to wait for the repair, made sure the parts used at our repair facility were OEM parts(original equiptment manufacture) and then requested all parts to be returned.  When repairs are in process the technician must report of any findings encountered during repair.

The technician found Ms. ****'s timing belt cover cracked, a common problem on a vehicle which has more than 100,000 miles and made of plastic is held down by screws. With time, heat of the engine and exposure to elements the covers cracks. Carlos Nunez, president, escorted Ms. **** to her vehicle and revealed the finding of the broken cover. The price to replace the cover was $25.00. She refused the replacement which then was noted on invoice the findings and recommendations. When the repair was completed the old parts were placed in the trunk of vehicle and Carlos Nunez, president, took the car on a test drive. The car was completed and Ms. **** paid for repair and drove away

The novel begins on the same day after repair. She begins her saga online with a full page (bad review) on Yelp.  Her complaint specified how our company tore and broke the $25.00 plastic cover and didn't fully explain a $10.00 shop supply charge, the one she approved and signed.

Denise Nunez, VP, responded 4 days later asking a pardon for the misunderstanding in regards to shop supply charge and surety the cover was not broken but naturally cracked.  We offered Ms. **** compensation with a free set of wiper inserts, a $15.00 value, on future return to facility.  Ms. **** responded to her Yelp review 1 month later saying she would take us up on the offer, but complaining of her car not starting. On yelp I responded indicating a possible battery problem, especially during a long travel period and car immobile over 1 month.  On yelp she stated she wanted us to pick up the car.  My Yelp response to her was please to call with a physical address to pick up the car and a possible charge of $90.00 to towing company.

On Yelp, she insinuated the problem was our fault, didn't want to pay and then a spin of story where almost everything was wrong with the car and not using the correct parts, or non-OEM . I saw where this was going, so we offered to pick up the car for free and to compensate with the replacement of the cracked timing belt cover at no charge. A savings of $200.00 at this point.  I reasured that in the event a problem with the timing belt replacement was present the car had a 12 month and 12,00 mile warranty on repair performed and would be covered. Still through Yelp and Emails, no- response in address or towing pick up. Ms. ****, even though, a 10 day window of resolution was grated through Dade County she took her car, which was apparently starting, to two of our competitors.   The novel from here becomes confuse, un -factual, un-resolving and slanderous.

I, Denise Nunez VP,  retracted from responding any more to this very knowledgable online reviewer who was luring the company to respond to her concucted stories.

Online fake reviews are being fraudulently conducted where writers from around the world are recruited and paid per review to either promote online companies or trash their competitors. Ms. **** has been trolling, trashing, slandering and harassing us online for the past 7 months.  She has written over 70 bad reviews about the company, attacked us personally by exposing and demeaning public information and accused my second career of an real estate agent as being corrupt. Her intention was never to have the car repaired but to have a story to write.  I have never met nor spoken to Ms. **** just responded, maybe 4 times on Yelp.

Ms. **** reported us to Triple A, which claim was closed in our favor.  Reported to the Dade County Consumer Protection Department, which was closed for non-resolvement due to Ms. Kitty's wanting continuance of online company trash and harassment. She was also found for altering an invoice sent her repair, from another repair shop to Dade County to make us look bad. Reported to Better Business Bureau, which tried to extort $1,300.00 from the company and upon exposure to BBB, was dropped.  Reported to Ripp-Off Report, which I'm responding to now and hope to expose ****'s demise and evil.

 Dear sirs,
My plea to your company is to expose this evil attack and to protect online authenticity.  This is very damaging to people who are honest and have worked hard to earn their reputable name in local communities and are presently online. This not the only time online reviewers have trashed our company and then suggested to go to our competitor, as Kitty **** has done.

I state, " our company has been family operated for 25 years and guarantee numbers of customers whom would stand in our defense."  Our customers love Carlos, President, for being honest, skilful, trustworthy, resolving and caring. A God given trait many people/competitors would be  intimidated by, envious or jealous of. From experience whenever a customer has had a misunderstanding of repair or a problem with repair, there's verbal communication between parties and quickly resolved by Carlos. Who has the time to write in such a manner as to go online for 7 months, every week and write extensive reviews, targeting blogs or face-book bash/bully, continuously. If Kitty felt so convicted about the situation she could of filed an inexpensive civil suit against our company, thus resolving her initial complaint.  This saga has caused hurtful grief in our place of business with our family, employees and customers. Kitty's keyboard novel is evident and shows presence of mal-intent  with ulterior motives yet I am a strong believer of Good always prevailing over evil. With truth and light we disarm the opponents and certify Japanese Care Care has nothing to hide. Our company alone stands for its years of service to our customers, certifiable experience, and established reputation in our community. Please preserve online reputation and do not allow the advantage of information to be maliciously manipulated by hate thus to exercise and bring harm upon others. From now on we will be working with Demand Force to authentisize our reviews.

Denise Nunez, VP, responded 4 days later asking a pardon for the misunderstanding in regards to shop supply charge and surety the cover was not broken but naturally cracked.  We offered Ms. Mui compensation with a free set of wiper inserts, a $15.00 value, on future return to facility.  Ms. Mui responded to her Yelp review 1 month later saying she would take us up on the offer, but complaining of her car not starting. On yelp I responded indicating a possible battery problem, especially during a long travel period and car immobile over 1 month.  On yelp, never through phone, she states she wanted us to pick up the car.  My Yelp response to her was please to call with a physical address to pick up the car and a possible charge of $90.00 to towing company.  On Yelp, she insinuated the problem was our fault, didn't want to pay and then a spin of story where almost everything was wrong with the car to not using the correct parts with non-OEM . Because I saw where this was going, we offered to pick up the car for free and also to compensate with the replacement of the cracked timing belt cover at no charge. A savings of $200.00 at this point.  I reasured that in the event a problem with the timing belt replacement was present the car had a 12 month and 12,00 mile warranty on repair performed. Still through Yelp and Emails, no- response in address or towing pick up. Ms. Mui, even though, a 10 day window of resolution was grated through Dade County she took her car, which was apparently starting, to two of our competitors.

Ms. Mui has been trolling, trashing, slandering and harassing us online for the past 7 months.  She has written over 70 bad reviews about the company, attacked us personally by exposing and demeaning public information and accused my second career of an real estate agent as being corrupt. Her intention was never to have the car repaired but to have a story to write.  I have never met nor spoken to Ms. Mui just responded maybe 4 times on Yelp.  Ms. Mui reported us to Triple A, which was closed in our favor.  Reported to the Dade County Consumer Protection Department, which was closed for non-resolvement due to Ms. Kitty's wanting continuance of online company trash and harassment. She was also found for altering an invoice sent from another repair shop, through Dade County to make us look bad. Reported to Better Business Bureau, which tried to extort $1,300.00 from the company and upon exposure to BBB, was dropped.  Reported to Ripp-Off Report, which I'm responding to now and hope to expose Mui's demise and evil.

 Dear sirs,
My plea to your company is to expose this evil attack and to protect online authenticity.  This is very damaging to people who are honest and have worked hard to earn their reputable name in local communities and are presently online. This not the only time online reviewers have trashed our company and then suggested to go to our competitor, as Kitty Mui has done.
