I purchased a vehicle from this scammer (J.D. Byrider/CNAC - Preowned of Downers Grove). They promised me that i would not pay over 300 dollars a month with 300 dollar down payment. When they were finish with my paperwork they said that they could get me in a vehicle today. They did that with a finance rate of 22% and 376 a month payment. Which I could not afford, I promptly returned the vehicle the next day within a 24 hour span and they refuse to give me a voided contract stating they would not and do not give things like that to the customer. I did however get my 300 dollars back but no paperwork stating that the contract was voided so, my complaint is that if a customer does not want a vehicle within 3 days of signing a contract then they should return to the customer a voided contract and a statement that there will not adverse action on the customer credit report thats reported to the three credits bureaus. Their refusal to supply me with a voided contract and statement tells me that they can do whatever they want to to me and my credit and my bank account information. Since then i have put a stop payment on that account and opened a new one. These people are rude and they do not care about the customer and their frame of mind that is a bad way to do business and to treat people who you want them to bring or refer family members and friends.

READ AND ASK QUESTIONS

AUTHOR: You Wish - (U.S.A.)

I had a friend who bought a car with jd byryder and i was with him and i, myself asked the finance rep if he changed his mind could he bring the car back he said jd byryder has no buyers remorse period at all. Once the docs are signed thats it is your car. Also if you saw on the docs your payment was to high you should have told them no and either re-negotiated or left

Did You READ What You Signed???

AUTHOR: Jim - (U.S.A.)

You said you wanted a $300 payment but the contract said $376. Did you read the contract to see this BEFORE you signed it? Forget about this idea of a three day cooling off period (which DOES NOT EXIST in most cases)...you could have found this out in THREE MINUTES...IF...you would have read what you were about to sign. Then, you wouldn't be in this situation, would you???

What does the contract say?

According to my search, Illinois does not have a standard 3 day return clause for vehicle sales. So it comes down to what your signed contract says. If the 3 day provision was not included, then CNAC can resell the car and hold you liable for the difference between the total value of your contract and the total value of the resale. Also the return of the car, even voluntarily can be reported as a repossession on your credit reports. I know the monthly amount is more than you said you wanted, but you did sign the contract. If at all possible, I'd suggest getting the car back and making the payments. That way you at least have transaportation and can start buiding a good credit record so you don't have to use someone like CNAC next time.
