It is a violation of FEDERAL LAW for anyone offering financing to force the consumer to buy any type of warranty or any other product or service as a condition of financing approval.

This also applies to the forced sale of any insurance product sold by the seller or one of its affiliates.

They can require insurance as a term of sale, they just cannot tell you who to buy it from.

There are also state and federal laws regarding the sale of warranties and the performance under such warranty.

Kathy, an effective argument for you is the forced warranty they shoved on you at the time of purchase. You had no choice and 95% of the other buyers had no choice but to buy the warranty which was a rip off and covers practically nothing. Your lawyer needs to know this. Thank you for your insight. Here is how you can help. Publish on this sight, everything J D Byrider does. Give the consumers the advantage and ammunition they need to stop this company. They are now harassing me. They go by many names. J D Byrider, Car Credit America, Greenwich Finance and CNAC. I know you can attest to that. Briefly, I bought a car from them, it stopped working just over 3 months later. They never have the time to come and get it to fix it under the $1,900 warranty or service agreement they insist I buy. In November, I went and bought a better car. I've been harassed at work, my family has been harassed, I've been told different stories by the different people who have called me. Mind you - - I'm not hiding from them. They've ignored my cease and desist letters (4). Please respond with all information that will help in a class action suit. And to everyone out there who bought a car and had it financed through any of the above (they really are the same company), and want to start a class action suit, please contact me at rtogno@yahoo.com.
