After having the prescription filled and going to a (3rd party) optician to pick up the glasses, I was unable to see. The optician commented that the axis had been drastically changed from a prior prescription. Upon returning to the FrantzEyeCare clinic for a re-examination that same day for a correct Rx, a drastically new, different prescription was provided by the same physician, Dr Nyguen.

The optician said in order to remake the glasses, a 75% reduced fee, ie $150.00 has to be paid additionally. The optician, Itopian, did nothing wrong and complied with and filled the first Rx provided by FrantEyeCare. Frantz Eye Care 1- Dawn, operations, and 2- optical (Tracy, Rx Dispensary) department managers, representing and responding on behalf of FrantzEyeCare, have refused to accept any responsibility for the 1st misdiagnosis and accurate fulfillment of the first prescription provided. Frantz Eye Care has only offered to refund their re-fraction fee, but accept no liability for their error and the resulting additional cost to obtain the correct(ed) Rx

Jonathan Frantz Eye Care resolution

AUTHOR: Geoffrey - (United States)

POSTED: Thursday, November 30, 2017

Upon receipt of a credit of the $150.00 surcharge for the cost of remaking (based upon the 2nd prescription reading) the Rx

lenses at Itopian Eye Wear, I can say that I am satisfied that Dr Frantz's office stepped up to the plate to accept the cost results

of their improper, WRONG, Rx provided to me the first diagnosis by their associate, Dr. Nyguen.  It is unfortunate that their office

manager deems it necessary to bar me from their care for future needs.  I have been a patient of Dr Frantz since 1992 when he

was affiliated with Dr Brown's office.  I have had lasik surgery in both eyes, T-cuts, glasses, contact lenses, and routine eye

exams with Dr. Jonathan Frantz ONLY since then.  However, it is important that their office accept their liability of their mistake in

providing an incorrect prescription in the first examination..

This comment is made in compliance with the request solely by the office manager, "Cindy," as Dr Frantz did not return any

of my calls what-so-ever since the incidence occurred.  I promised a "positive" comment of the resolution reached, which

obviously is the reimbursement of the surcharge to remake the proper lenses prescription at Itopian.  Tracy Seaman's, Frantz's

optical department manager) comment of 30 days to remake lenses by all opticians is based upon their owning up to their own

mistake of making an improper lens(es).  If any doctor's office dispenses the wrong prescription to patient, regardless of where

the glasses are purchased and/or made for a ptient, if the dotor's office made the mistake, they SHOULD BE LIABLE FOR IT  The

other issue Tracy was not disclosing in the trade web site is that I DID approach their optical department ot make the glasses,

but there was a specific frame in wanted which they were unable to acquire!

Perhaps Dr. Frantz will read this blurb (by me) to be made aware of the entire patient's perspective situation within his office?

Jonathan Frantz' Office Mgr. (Cindy) reneged on check until THEIR Release of claims would be signed

AUTHOR: Geoffrey - (United States)

POSTED: Tuesday, November 21, 2017

Aside from discharging me from Dr Frantz' practice (as I have now been "deemed an 'impossible to satisfy patient"), I

was asked to sign THEIR "complete release of ALL Claims." included was my having to withdraw all reports (RipOffReport.com,

whcih I have no control over to delete).  In addition, the agreement stipulates that the (dr's) office did nothing wrong, and

if asked, I am to stipulate that, "the matter was resolved to my satisfaction."  In essence, I am being forced to agree to what is

referred to as a "gag order" whereby no details can be shared what-so-ever.  Forcing me to leave "Dr. Frantz's care" is not a

choice of mine, but rather a stipulation of the Release proffered to me to obtain the $150.00 to get the correct lenses.  The

proposed release goes on to stipulate that the payment of the offer of $150.00, if and when paid, is not to be construed as any

admission of liability, negligence, or wrongdoing what-so-ever.

If the doctor's office provided an Rx which was wrong, either de to providing another patient's Rx, misdiagnosing my Rx, or

writing the wrong Rx in error, which was subsequebntly filled by an optician as directed, and later found to completely be

an incorrect Rx, the liability to remake the lenses should NOT be the responbility of the optician, but the dr's office who

prescribed the wrong Rx to begin with.  The fact that the optician is willing to remake the lenses at a 75% discount of the cost

charged to me the first time is a mroe than reasonable offer with the stipulated treatments to the lenses which the dr's office

also prescribed!

All I asked for was the $150.00 cost to make the proper lenses (Rx provided upon re-exam which turned out completely

different from the first Rx).  The onus is the opthamology office's mistake which "they" are not willing to accept the

responbibility of.  If they insist that I withdraw from Dr. Frantz's care AND do not pay for the cost of their mistaken 1st

Rx, then I will have to pursue legal channel(s) for their negligence of the situation.
