Joseph Hicks Jr. claims to be a screenwriter, author, and speaker. He is a scammer, a thief, and a liar.

Joseph responded to a freelancer ad on Craigslist using the fake name Joe Hollis, gen22124. We agreeed on a price and he had me do a few hours of website development work fixing his website www.soldieronstrong.com then he stiffed me.

Scammin' Joe initially promised that he would "pay today ASAP" but that was lie. I did everything we agreeed to, and then some. I worked twice as long as we agreed to, and I even included a $40 professional template that I purchased the license to, at no charge to him. I went above and beyond for this for this guy, I should have charged him double for all I did.

Joe conned me and strung me along until it came time to pay. He just ignored the invoice, then he refused to answer any further emails, phone calls or texts. I tried for the next two weeks to give him the benefit of the doubt, I was polite and professional in every way, but it became clear that this deadbeat intended all along to duck me and stiff me for what he owes.

Joseph simply stole the work and ran without a word, like the spineless thief that he is. He presents himself as a friendly and reasonable person, but he is in fact a liar and a thief and a person of low morals and no integrity. And the fact that his website is named Soldier On Strong (dot com) is an insult to all real soldiers and people of true integrity. Someone needs to check if he plagiarizes his work, I wouldn't be surprised if he did.

Joseph Hicks Jr. is a liar and a thief. Let this be a warning to future victims approached by or doing business with him. He pretends to be someone he is not, and then he lies and cheats people out of their hard work.
