J&S Excavating, Steve Byrd (Bird) Landscaping Scam- Took our money and ran Ulman Missouri

In June 2008 we hired Steve Byrd (Bird) with J&S Excavating to do a landscaping project at our home. The total cost of the job was almost $12,000 and he asked for 50% up front. He told us he could have the job completed by July 4th. The job did not get completed by July 4th, it barely was started by that date. When he did get to our job site the work he did was incorrect and will have to be taken down. We tried to contact Steve to go over our concerns and to let him know we were not satisified with the work but he avoided our calls and failed to come when he said he would. He definitely has not done $6000 worth of work and what he has done has to be taken down because it is of such poor quality. We have heard now from another landscaping company that this is not the first time Steve has done this. Absolutely do not use this company and never pay for services in advance.
