RIP OFF ALERT! - UPDATED 11-2014 J's charged $250 to replace a $3 part. To begin, I have a 1974 VW Bus. Passing through Reno on a road trip my engine was operating the worst it ever had. I drove over 100 miles to get to Reno from Burning Man at 25 mph, sputtering the whole way. The guys at J s acted like it was a real serious problem. Kept it in the back for a few hours, even. Turned out it was just a clogged fuel filter. Js charged $60.00 for the fuel filter ($3.00 anywhere), and $190 for labor (ten minute job). They are dishonest. And also extremely inept, considering it took them nearly 3 hours to diagnose a clogged fuel filter. UPDATE: J's owner MARTIN YOUNG is now emailing vulgar profanity laced harassing messages to me for exposing him on review sites.

At least you got your vehicle back in one piece. Martin TOTALED my car by setting it on fire. Then, when I complained on websites he did the same thing to me. He harrassed my mother until her dying day...literally. Just be happy that they are finally out of business.

In 2005 J's VW Repair Was Owned And Operated By Jerry Burdick, 2006 Martin Young Bought J&J VW Vans. With That Said,The Individual making This Rip Off Report, Which J's VW Repair Has No Records Of This Person Even Being A Customer,Has Continuly Slanderd J's VW Repair Starting In 2007 After Repairs He Claims Took Place In 2005, On Every Single Internet Location He Can Find. I'd Like To Say First Of All, How Would A Fuel Filter Get Dirt From The Playa In It. When A Fuel Filter Gets Glogged You Can Check Pressure With Guage And Have Pressure But No Volume. Which Usually Leads To More Diag, Especially When Normal Fuel Pressure On A Carburator For That Vehicle Is 3 PSI. Also That Make And Model Vehicle Is Very Common For Over Heating Concidering Operating Temp Is 225 Deg. J's VW has Tried To Contact This Individual Number Of Time To Resolve This Problem And Let Him Know The Bussiness Is No Longer Operated By Same Owner And Would Like To Offer Our Services To Him With No Good Results Only More Slander.
