We purchase a car from JSP last year. We have made every single payment on time. Just recently on a Saturday the battery car went out, we decided to change the battery, (bad idea). JSP installed a ignition kill switch on the car, just incase you don't make a payment they can turn your car off anywhere in the United States. We make our payments on time, so that was not the problem.

We called them to get help, and spoke with a girl named Rachel.I explained to her that we try to change the battery in the car, and when that happened the kill switch was no longer working. Instead of getting help, she accused us of tampering with it and told us very unprofessionally that we will have to wait until Monday to get help, and hung up.

I called back again and someone named Jenny answer, I ask her if they had a supervisor and she said "NO". I told her the situation, and explain to her what was going on.I ask if she could contact Jeff the owner and ask if he could have someone come out to install a new kill switch. She, told me she was going to get ahold of him and call me back. She called back and said that Jeff, was not going to do nothing, they didn't have no one that could come out, and for us to get our car to their lot, so they could install a battery and a new kill switch. We explained to them that we could not do that, because the car was not drivable, do to the kill switch going out.

Jeff did not respond to any of our calls, his staff is very, very, very unprofessional. At the beggining of the deal everyone is nice and than the true colors come out. We all need homes, cars, so we take chances dealing with this dealers. It is unfortunate for us because we pay $345 a month ontime. This people need to start caring not just about the sales but also after the sale.

She explained that anyone who has a car from JSP cannot change their car battery, it has to be done by JSP, if not the kill switch will go out. Just a heads up to anyone that wants to deal with JSP, "BEWARE" or with any other company. This planet is full of con artist, and Jeff Polen along with those cons are ready to take our money. I have 4 kids and I haven't being able to drive my car in 4 days/ or go to work. In this time in age we all need cars.

I pray our situation will soon be better, and to those of us who are just trying to make it, I pray for the best. May God bless and forgive those who do us wrong.

Today, 10/16/2009 JSP Investments made the newspaper. Congradulations!


Why? JSP failed to pay property/real estate taxes on properties he rents/cfd's in which he collects those property/real estate taxes from his clients BUT isn't remitting those funds to the appropriate taxing authorities.


Hmmm... That's quite interesting. ......


I have never done business personally with this organization, but my experience with this company through my employment, JSP is a complete slum lord. Always in trouble with the City of Springfield corporate council because of property code violation/fines.


Perform a search on Jeff Polen and/or JSP Investments on the sangamon county circuit clerks website. You will be amazed, but pay attention to cases where Jeff Polen and/or JSP Investments is the defendant(s) in the cases listed. This guys character defines him as being shady, and crookid.


After reviewing Jeff Polen's responses in his rebuttal's on complaints filed against him on ripoffreport.com, he attacks his complainer and provides an excuse as to why they are in the wrong.


I truly feel sorry for anybody who works for or does business with Jeff Polen and JSP Investments.

After going to a couple of bigger car dealers I realized that my credit is what was denying me. My friend told me about the buy here pay here lot where she bought her car lot from, JSP!


I decided to give it a shot and went to their location. NO CREDIT CHECK REQUIRED! The woman at the window informed me of the four simple things I needed to get approved. She even told me the local library allows free internet access to get the things I needed! How helpful is that?!


I could only thank Jenny, Ryan and the staff at JSP so much for all their help! Now I can get around town for the things I need in my 98 Stratus at ease! Thanks again!

I dont know who Don B is and I truly wish he didnt have a bad experience with us. If I as the owner was contacted I would do what I could to make it right. He as well as any of our clients are always welcome to contact me.

"It is not the problem, but the solution that is the most important".

If I dont resolve a good clients issues, I will lose my clients. All's I ask for is a chance to always make things right

i for one can attest to the rudeness of this company.they do not fix cars in a timeley manner and they would rather just take it then get it fixed.they make you buy a warranty for 400 bucks but dont do anything about it.i enjoyed my first 6-8 months of buying from them but it all went down hill after they got bigger.i would never buy a car from these people again.you would think with the money there getting out of you they could at least smile when you come in.

We are in the process of legal collections by way of a successful wage garnishment against this poster and I think she is just sore that she has to take accountability for her actions. She has been barred from ever entering our property due to harrasment, Vulgarities, and disrespect to others and property.

Quick summary

The first house we put them in we did new hvac at over a cost of $4,000 , new roof at a cost of $7,000. They needed more yard and room so we transferred them to a home with just that. They left the first home with outlandish unfinished painting, and full of animal waste strewn throughout the home.

Yes, we gave her another chance! I am not for sure why after I seen how they left the 1st home, and the way they lived. Sometimes people take advantage of my kindness.

So on the second home she left the home and large yard a wreck. Even after all the disrespect and damages their family had left us with we strived to see through it all for the chance it was just hard times. While in the second home we even helped her get financed for a car loan. So when yudira went into the hospital to have their 3rd child and Carl came to us needing a vehicle that would accommodate the entire family so he and the kids could pick up Yudira and the new addition to the family. We traded in the 1st car they had with us and put them into the newest vehicle on our lot without any money. This was the 2nd vehicle we helped them with. NO MONEY DOWN on this car!!

I personally as the owner worked directly with this client. She was given every opportunity to perform her obligations.

At JSP we give everyone the opportunity to get their own home or car. We are looking for people that are respectful of others, and our property. If you are not, you dont make it with our company, and that is why these folks will never ever be allowed to buy a home or car from us, and that is their loss.

So in turn readers out there, read between the lines. We have 1000 clients, and 2 posts. And both these posters were evicted through the courts and did a tremendous amount of damage to the propertys of which the repair bill will be sought to be collected in legal proceedings. One is in criminal proceeds at this time for theft.

Everyone seems to get mad at someone, when actually they should look in the mirror. its just to easy to blame someone else these days for the wrongs you yourself create.

Business owners take warning of this client! Do no business with her. Thank you ripoff report for letting me be heard.

JSP can not, and never has had the ability to shut off a customers car.

JSP has staff support and will send out a technician on the same day to trouble shoot any problem with its vehicles as we did indeed in this case. The starting system had registered a trouble shooting code which did show tampering with the vehicle illegally. We sent someone out immediately and this client was driving the same day she called about the problem.

Although the poster is anonymous(no last name), we believe that this client knows the supervisor personally and even has the owner's personal cell phone. They could have called the owner but did not do so. The owner instructed JSP staff to take whatever steps were necessary to get the car back on the road as is always the case with a client in need. These clients have always been personally taken care of by the owner himself.

This client made not one attempt to call the owner, as the owners phone records all missed phone calls and this client is pre-programmed in his phone.

Any client can change a battery in our cars. There is no trick to it. The battery just has to be removed with the two terminals and reinstalled the way it came out.

JSP has worked with this client for many years, and the owner has tried to call her in regards to this post and she will not return any calls. We dont know why as we have done so much for them when they really needed assistance.
