I had my tires replaced on my wifes 2006 KIA Sorento on Sat., Oct. 4 at their Garner, NC location. I came in the store the previous day and picked out the tires that I wanted. They were not in stock and I was offered an opprotunity to get tehm installed that day. They would just have to run and get them localy and it wouldn't take long.. I declined and made an appointment the following morning at 9AM.
I arrived at 9:05AM with the SUV and wandered around the shop area, even got my hair cut across the street.. At 10AM my truck was still sitting in their parking lot. I went inside to see what was happening. They just kept asking me "How you doing? Yo doing alright?" To which I replied I suppose so. Why? Whats going on? They didn't tell me I had to guess. I asked if the tires I wanted were in the store. The clerk at the counter stated that no, they had to get them (the tires) and the mgr. wasn't happy. It was suppose to be done yesterday.
At 10:30AM my SUV was brought into a bay. The kids in the bay started taking off the old tires and the new ones arrived shortly thereafter. The swap began.. The guys in the bay were a bit rough handeling my aluminum rims, but succeeded in mounting my new tires. The balencing.. They just jammed my rims onto the maching and used the screw on the balencing machine to remove my center caps from my rims.. tossing them like they were frizbees into the tray.
I waqtched them do their thing and they remounted my tires after placing 30psi in each tire (So they said).

I got home and went over their work.. My 2 tire guages said 28psi in each tire.. the sidewall said 44psi, the door jam on the SUV says 30psi, I called KIA in Knightdale, NC and the service desk said they put 32-36psi in their tires.. Who is right?

I also checked the torque on the lug nuts. KIA states 80ft.lbs. for lug nut torque.. I went all the way to 130ft. lbs on my snap on torque wrench and they were torqued more than that!

On Mon. Oct.6 I tried to call the store and speak with the manager. He used a sarcastic tone with me and tried to defend his guys tire inflation thing as being the right way.. I dissagreed, I thought that the tire sidewall was the correct way to inflate a tire. Our voices got higher and the yelling began, I called this B.S. and he got all offended that I "used a cuss word". I in no uncertain tyerms said I haven't even began to cuss if you think that BS is a cuss word, and flew off the handle and unleashed a string of obcenities that would make a sailor blush.. I then stormed down to the store, totaly ticked off. They wanted nothing to do with my problems and called the police and demand I leave the store, which I did.. I then called the Just Tires regional manager in in Apex, NC (tel.# 919-387-7034). He was arrogant too..

I did some research by calling Goodyear Tire & rubber co's. customer service line. I explained the inflation problem. They explained that the "right" way to do it is to use the mfg. of the vehicles specs. on tire inflation... Boy, was I suprised.. I was wrong, and when I talked to the regional mgr. I admitted I was just that. BUT, my other problems still existed!

I feel that any manager of a store that cannot handle a unsatisfied customer who becomes irate without calling the police is in the wrong business. A "F" bomb here and there isn't the end of the world and if your in a position where you deal with teh public, you have to expect a certain amount of colorful language. The store is located alongside the highway, they get travelers from all over the counrty. A NYC customer could come in and not be able to complete a sentance without using the "F" word.. what then.. Are you going to refuse him service or call the police again? This "manager" needs to get a job working in a monastary if he is bothered by a little "cuss" word..

I spent over $800 in that store and I still have the following problems:
1) The lug nuts are over torqued.
2) The alignment tech decided not to show up for work that day so my
"free" alignment check was never done.
3) They did a terrible job of cleaning the sidewalls of the blue dye that
covers the raised white letters.
4) I had to correct the tire inflation myself.

I'll never buy another thing from this bunch of amatures ever again. They smile at you and will ignore everything while they are trying to get your $$, but let you have a problem.. They'll scream you hurt my feelings, and call the police to have you removed..
