 I was selling a set of wheels and tires for $800.00 on Craigs List.   I was contacted the same day via email by a person who seemed very interested.  He assured me he was going to send a check and asked that I take the item off of Craigs List.  Four days later I received a check for $2700.00+ and was asked in another that I mail a check for the difference to a third party to arrange shipping.   Obviously this smelled of BS, so I did a quick Web seach and found a similar incident on ripoffreport.com.  Again, the whole thing smelled like BS so I did not take the bait.  I didnt lose anything but about a weeks worth of advertising.  For your information, and seller beware!!
