Kittery Trading Post Gift Card Activation Kittery, Maine

In December 2008, I purchased a Kittery Trading Post Gift card for a Christmas present.  The recipient lives in Massachusetts, but vacations in Maine every Summer, which was the earliest opportunity she had to use the card.   When she atempted to use it, store employees told her that it had never been activated and that she would have to have a sales.  This was not a card that was available at checkout lines, but rather, one that had been purchased at the Store's Service Counter.  Whether it was a store practice or simply a stupid employee that was responsible has to be questioned.  Either way, I have since avoided the store and have reverted entirely to shopping from their competitor in Freeport.
