 I purchased my pup Larry from Roz and almost did not because of this false report. Not only was I provided with health records for Larry but Roz has been in constant follow up to ensure that Larry is doing well in our home. It is obvious that she treats these pups s though they are her own children.

I will get my next pup from her without a second thought and hope that this report is removed as it may prevent another dog lover from getting their new best friend from this caring breeder.

This report is a false claim. Nothing in the report is/was true. The court case against Terra Incognita was settled in favour of Chris Anctil and Roz Rickard. ABSOLUTELY NO ABUSE what so ever was caused to any animal. No dogs have ever been sold without registration papers. No dogs are ever inbred and all health testing and documentation is provided.

As for the rest of this report, the SPCA has never had any dealings with either breeder and all puppies are raised in the house with plenty of access to a safe and enriching outdoor environment. This report should be removed as it is all false, however rippedoff will not remove it no matter how much proof we give them that this is a false report. It's a sad day when someone can post false information about others and there is no way to remove it. 

I purchased a Lagotto puppy from Roz Rickards almost 3 years ago.  She does run a small operation out of a small house, however it was evident to me that these dogs are her life and her loves.  She only manages one or two litters a year.  My puppy was well socialized, crate trained, partially house broken and very happy and healthy when adopted. I had no issue getting all health records, which were offered before I had to ask.  This included information on lineage of my dog, and information on hip health, among other information.  All shots and health care procedures were up to date.  The process to adopt my dog was extremely thorough as Roz had particular requirements as to what settings she would adopt a puppy into.  She actually called my references and had thorough conversations with them.  When we picked up the puppy he came with an extensive care package including dental care items, hand made safe toys, a comb and dog treats.  

To me these do not seem to be the actions of someone who is running a business of inbred dogs looking at ripping off the customers.  I was aware of the registration issues with my puppy's sire and that I would not get official registration papers for him, at least initially.  I am also aware, based on my research, that her prices for this litter were under value for the breed.  As I was adopting a dog to have as a family pet, this was not a concern to me at all.  I understand that I may eventually get papers for my dog, but it doesn't really matter to me. As for the price, compared to the astronomical prices being charged from cross breed "designer dogs" the cost of my purebred seemed almost a bargain.  As for contentions of inbreeding, I note that no information supporting this was provided by the person who issued the complaint.  

Based on the lineage of my dog, I can see that he is not an inbred dog.  I have a dog who is robustly healthy, has perfect physical confirmation for the breed.  Roz remained in contact with us during the early days with our new puppy to make sure he settled in and to offer any assistance or advice she could.  I still occasionally contact her for advice or to update her on how our dog is doing.  I had a call from her recently as she had heard that one of the puppies she had adopted out had been hit by a car.  She wanted to know if it was my dog, it was not, and wanted to find out whose dog it was to see if she could offer any assistance.  I think the Roz I met was not the same Roz described in the negative report.  I know that she has turned down people who have applied to adopt a dog from her if she is not satisifed that the dog will go to best of environments.

Anyone looking at this breed needs to do their own research and make sure they are CKC Registered and have all the health check paperwork. DO NOT take their word for it. They are unethical and just trying to make money. Be very aware.
