I am Hilton Honors member which means that I stay at their properties often. I've been a member for over ten years. I had a pair of Lucky Brand jeans taken out of my room while staying at the Las Vegas Hilton in June of 2011. This kind of stuff happens when an employee becomes disgrunteled and decides to take it out on the hotel and it's customers. Usually the hotel or chain will compensate its loyal customers for their loss in some way to prevent the loss of their business.

The Las Vegas Hilton is an exception to this part of customer service. It falls back on legal disclaimers and refuses to compensate anyone. I have never had to keep my clothing under lock and key in a Hilton Property. Any one thinking about booking a room at the Las Vegas Hilton needs to be aware of this problem at the hotel. I have also reported this problem to Hilton Corporate but have not gotten a response.

People who travel for a living need to know...

Hilton Properties has taken their name away from the Las Vegas Hilton.  You can contact the rewards desk at Hilton to confirm this.  It will happen some time in 2012.

Most people do not consider items of clothing to be items that need to be under lock and key.  I believe that Hilton Corporate did the right thing.

Have a nice day...

I have been a Hilton honors member for 13 years spending the  cost of a home twice over thru out and never ever have i had to sign anything that said i had to keep my things under lock and key hence the point of staying in a room for 199 up 300 or more a night verses staying at motel six the name hilton use to mean something, hotel staff from corporate to the guy driving the shuttles today will treat you with all the courtesy and attention that we as consumers pay in order to get just that once you hand them your credit card or cash this ends now , my experience was out of the world i just could not believe the things they did and up till today have gotten away with mine was the doubletree Hilton at the  Berkeley marina in California a hotel i have loved and frequented often during past 13 years , i had not stayed there for approximately 6 months the only person i recognized was the shuttle driver the rest were new or maybe even one behind the customer care desk any how i reserved my room on the Hilton honors site with a package that offered me room , movie , dinner for one set price , i stayed a total of 4 days and then was escorted out by security when i lost my patience and cool i was there to relax from just having finished a divorce to a man i was married to for 16 years after losing my mom as well in the same year i just received  a large amount of cash , and was going to get brand new bank account after my stay first problem was the very next morning i was charged on my card and was charged for dinner and for net and i was told my credit card i had used did not go thru i had never questioned this before nor been told this before and trusted that maybe it had not so i paid cash long story short the charges were never removed allthou i was promised daily they would be evrey single day it was the same ordeal the same charges ..they even charged me for something i had bought in gift shop for $70 that i paid cash for and had my receipt for i paid cash for all yet the bill grew larger with promises that they would handle it my credit card company even called them personally and put manager me and them 3 way and they promised my credit card company they would send the "correct "form to remove all the charges because the one they had sent was not in hotel heading correct form at this point i thought now it will be ok nope she never sent the copy nor did i ever see or get to speak to her again i left my room leaving in the drawer a envelope with $4000 in it and thank god i had witness and receipts to prove that cash was there the police captain of my town had come to visit me had a drink and i had pulled the cash out left on the dresser and he said put that away , the housekeeper had run after me telling me i belive on the second day mam you left the money on the bed , on my 4th night i was fed up at returning to hotel i was told i had to pay for that day i said no i wont and don't you owe me money are you people all insane this night manager refused to look at my receipts it was pay or leave i said leave i will not give you a dollar more you will be escorted by security she said i said no need i m out still i was escorted in room and out  i packed all in a hurry threw my envelope that had Bart tickets , 2 scratch offs some receipts and the money all in that envelope i put it my purse left , i went to pay the cab and found i was broke not a dime the 4000 dollars was my Christmas money for my girls 18 14 and grand kids , i called police made a complaint was told i would get call back they would look into it i wrote called corporate they never responded , nor did police , i threatened with the fact that my witness was the captain of the police and they did not take me seriously , Christmas came and went and we had no Christmas my daughter of 18 was killed this month and is now under investigation of a homicide detective so i get to live with that the last christmas last anything i may have had with her will not happen ever and all why ? because these people whom have a responsibility a duty to do a job they are paid for dont and they all cover each other so your chasing your own tail the cops never returned my calls and i made many corporate said they would look into it and never did i got a email asking me how was my stay ....so yeah unreal....the money can be replaced but my last months with my dead child cant why ? i hope someone reads this and somehow some way this will be made right or someone will learn to pay attention if they are not refunding you that moment and or keep billing you over for same mistakes be alert and dont leave any thing of value ...you will get robbed.

Blame yourself.

I've stayed at roughly thirty Hilton Hotels across the U.S and every single one of them have told me to lock up my valuables and also made me sign a document stating that I agreed to do so. It does indeed "fall back on legal disclaimers". You just chose to ignore this one and it cost you.
