I am sorry to be reading these accounts of others being ripped off by this company, although the addresses of both the reports are different than my contact, I have always dealt with a woman named Nishita (who speaks with an accent).
My daughter and her best friend purchased tickets to Europe for June 2008 through Last Minute Tickets. Similarly Nishita wanted payment before the end of the week which was sometime in February. The amount was approx. $2500. Nothing like the amounts in the other reports but the girls earned the money through hard work, not only at jobs but were rewarding themselves for incredible successes in High School.
When we showed up at the airport excited to see them off they were told that the tickets had not been purchased. After MANY phone calls to Nishita's cell number at 4:40am we finally made contact and she did find a flight for them just a few hours later. OK. #1
During their month long journey I was in contact with Nishita several times who assured me that indeed she had paid for their tickets home from Madrid. Voila! #2 At the Barajas airport they had the same experience! Luckily they were able to find someone to help them although they had to pay 200 euros each to change their flights which left 6 hours later.
Nishita's always been apologetic, and I have been more than patient. I've tried to contact her several times by email and she's transferred me to message phone when I call her and she recognizes my voice. No response. It's been one month since the girls came home, having had an incredible experience and safe, but they are waiting to be reimbursed their money as promised.
The embarrassment, frustration, disbelief and anger these girls have had to endure have jaded them for life. For this I am saddened.
How can we stop people like this from taking advantage of unsuspecting consumers in the future?

No tickets?

"When we showed up at the airport excited to see them off they were told that the tickets had not been purchased..." If I read this correctly the girls did not have tickets and they showed up at the airport for an international flight? Even if they were electronic tickets they should have had all the confirmation emails printed off, with confirmation numbers, dates, etc with them. They should have checked weeks before to make sure there were no cancellations or changes. There are so many red flags here the only thing I'm surprised about is that they did get flights. I doubt they will be jaded for life, just wiser the next time they travel - like seeing if they really have tickets before showing up at the airport.
