Law Office Of Curtis O Barnes, PC Refused My Payment Agreement ,HSBC/Best Buy, Anaheim California

This firm is pretty much cut throat (there way or the highway). I called Curtis O Barnes, PC to take care of a collection debt ($5000.00) they had on me that has been on my credit report for 12 months due to layoff. I called them and told them I wanted to make monthly payment arrangments ($200 month) and when I get my tax refund I would pay off the rest of the settlement. Well, they gave me (there) 4 options I had to choose from to settle this credit card debt I had and it wasn't like they were interested in working with you at all. Here are your 4 options, choose one of them and you cant then we're going to report you of refusing to pay.

Here were my options, (1) Pay the full amount, (2) Divide amount in 6 monthly payments, (3) Pay $900 for the first 2 months then $500 each month till settled, (4) Pay $200 for this month then 10% of balance due each month till tax time then pay balance in full by March 09.

Dont these people understand that we do have lifes, mortgage, bills, children to feed? We're contacting them to attempt to payoff our debt and settle this matter in a good business matter.

So I pretty much told them I'm going to send you $200 month and when tax time comes I'm going to pay off settlement. They said don't bother not going to do you any good, we're going to put a Cival law suit against you. If we have to we'll get access to your checking account, savings and take what money we can from you plus go to your employor and garnish your wages if it has to come down to that to get the money you owe.

Any suggestions or comments? How is this going to affect me? Here I'm making an attempt to pay off my debt and there slaming the door in my face. I love collection agent's better cause they will take any means of attempt to pay off your collection debt.
