LEGENDS CAFE RECEPTION REFUND RIP-OFF at the Harley Davidson Dealer Modesto California

we reserved their banquet hall in dec 2000. for a wedding that was to take place in may of 2002. Then september 11th happened. It just so happens that my daughter and her finance are in the army. Well it was the end of september 2001 mind you when they got the call. My future son-in-law would be shipped to afghanistan.

So I contacted the owner and asked if there was anyway to get a 500.00 refund that we had paid. Well he started off by telling me how I'm not the only one in the world this is happening to. Well I understand that. But we had given him 7 months advanced notice that we needed to cancel.

He also had reminded me at a previous meeting that we got the hall for 750.00 And he now rents it for 1500.00. Well you'd think just in light of that he would refund the money. No chance.

Yes I'm not the only one in this type of situtation. But we're talking about people who are going to defend this great country. And it wasn't like we still wouldn't use his place. I was more than willing to fork over the 1500.00 at a later date. Not expecting him to let me have it for the price we agreed on so early in the game. Well he wouldn't do it. So I told him would he rather give me my money back, and try to rent it out? or would he rather have me hold the reservation, pay the 250.00 balance when due and let that room set empty?

He thought I was crazy. But the fact of the matter is I would rather he have to pay to have the power on and pay employees to sit there all day. Then to give him the satisfaction of keeping my money for nothing. He's unamerican...
