You are very wrong

AUTHOR: Robert - (U.S.A.)

POSTED: Friday, December 07, 2007

I understand why you may think what you do, but you are wrong. I am an HVAC and Appliance repairman and do work for sevral insurance companies. No furnace cost $7000.00, YOU MAY BE CHARGED THAT MUCH FOR A NEW ONE, but it only cost me around $600 - $900.00, aS A SERVICE TECH I agree to do service on an A/C or furnace for a certain ammount from the insurance company, the insurance company supplies the furnace ( they have much more buying power and get them at an even lower cost than i can even get them) I install the furnace and it cost them around 900 - $1,100.00 minus your deductable. Just becouse the retail price of a 3 ton condenser is around $1500.00 beleive me when I tell you I buy them all day long for $600.00 and the insurance companies get them around $500, plus what they pay me they spend around $700.00 , when you would have spent over $1500.00, still think the insurance company is ripping you off? The trouble I find is some people get these polocies knowing their ac is about to crap out and think they are going to scam the insurance company, I get offered hundreds of dollars daily to suggest to the insurance companies that they replace the whole system, I don't do it ofcorse. Then they get irate becouse all that needs to be done is a compresor or something to get them running again, they threaten me and also make claims agenst me becouse I didn't get them a new condenser when they only needed a compressor. Read your contracts people. your not getting ripped off, and the people who come to work on your systems are independent contractors. The insurance people do not, DO NOT have employees working on your systems. It sounds like most complaints are dirested at the wrong people. Your complaints are against the contractors. You should let your insurance company know if you are un happy with the company they send out, or not satisfied with their diagnoses. Your critisising the wrong people, If i told a customer they would have to wait 48 hours I think they would get pretty mad at me, and maybe call for another company to come out. Don't get mad at the wrong people, if you call your insurance company yelling at them you will get nowhere, just call them and tell them what you are unhappy about and they will try to help.

Your exactly correct------Liberty's contract is just like AHS

AUTHOR: Michelle - (U.S.A.)

Just FYI (I used to work for AHS) the contract verbage you have copied from Liberty HP contract is the exact same verbage used in the AHS contracts. I thought you may want to know just in case you look for a different home warranty co. This is part of their "limitations of liability" section. On some of the items they cover no-one explains to you that's it's only covered for a certain amount.

Oh & by the way, the AHS customer service reps skills aren't much better then their contract. Especially if you have a true problem. AHS also doesn't explain to you that during the summer time for example if your a/c goes out they think it's ok to wait up to 48 business hours (unless you make them aware of a medical condition). Policies such as these aren't printed on the contract & create a big part of the customers frustrations.

I wish you the best of luck in dealing with Liberty---till your contract expires or you cancel it and just start a small savings account for your home repairs (maybe you can even even a few extra $$'s in interest. :-)
