I have contact the corp. office and spoke to no less than 3 employees, as well as employees in the Office itself and I have yet to get resolution.

It all started when my fianc and I filed our taxes with Liberty Tax service on 54/Madison in New Port Richey FL. I came in to speak to a rep first while my children were being watched by my mother. I advised her that I was currently pregnant with my fiancs child, and I had two more children with another man. I was advised that I could file single with no dependents because my fianc, Donald Jason Blair, had worked most of the year and was 90% financially responsible for the children, even though we weren't married. My taxes were filed.

Next, my fianc, Donald Jason Blair, came in to file his taxes at the same location with a diff woman. He was told he was filing head of household with my children as his dependents, again stating that he could because he had finically supported the children for most of the year. When the part of the paper work came up about the children he explained twice that he was the step father and we weren't married. The tax consultant said that is ok, and my fianc signed his paperwork. My children were with my mom again while we had our appointment.

Then the problems started. My tax refund came back okay, however, my fiancs were only partially given out and we found out he was being audited. Apparently, since we weren't married and he wasn't the biological father, he had filed his taxes incorrectly. I immediately called Liberty tax service on 54/Madison in the Elfer's square and complained. I told them I was not happy and wanted a refund as the IRS had already told my fiance and I that he would be charged around $2000 in taxes! I was then directed to speak to a Kathy at another location who was the area manager. I called her and explained the situation. She then told me that she was backing her employee. She said that the person who filed Donald's taxes stated we took my children in with us and we presented them as our children! I was outraged. I told her I could prove my children werent there and if she had any video of the other location that would prove it as well. She declined and stated the regional manager wasn't approving a satisfaction guaranteed refund, which my paperwork clearly stated over and over again was "for any reason" a customer wasn't satisfied. I told Kathy that the IRS stated they would remove my children from Donalds taxes so that I could then refile the correction to my taxes. I asked her if that would cost me money to do, she stated YES. I called and filed a complaint with the corp. office. Then I ended up speaking to Kathy again and the 'deal we worked out was she would assist with all IRS problems with Donalds taxes and she would refile my taxes for free. I thought that was a good deal, because at the time I didn't know she should of done that anyway for free for filing taxes with Liberty Tax service. So, at that point all Donald and I could do was wait for the IRS to complete the audit and to send his corrected taxes back to us along with a $2195 fine. Then I called Kathy and told her that we could now fix my taxes. I was unable to come in until I got a state issued gold id card. Once I got that, I came in to see her and had her refile my taxes. Here is where the problem came in, Once she was done and they were printed out, she went to make a note to herself or an employee on a sticky to have my taxes sent to the IRS, but then thought better of it because she was too cheap to use a stamp, and she gave me the letter to send out myself after addressing the envelope (only recalling the Georgia address after looking at her sons address in Georgia)...she told me to sign the paperwork and get it out in the mail and we would finally be done.

The next night I went to sign and send it out, and realized much to my dismay that Kathy had not signed the document as my tax preparer. I called her the next morning, without her knowledge I had my mother on 3 way and my fianc listening on speaker phone since prior Kathy had not believed me when I told her that Donald and I never told the tax preparers anything but the truth about my children and we were told to file the way we did, so this time I wanted witnesses to my conversations, and I am glad I did,  when Kathy answered the phone and I stated who I was I asked her if I would of sent my re done taxes to the IRS without a signature by the preparer would it be rejected, and she stated it would have been- Jesus! As if I hadnt been through enough already, knowing that the IRS takes 2-3 months to process redone taxes. Then she stated that I could sign her name for her. Are you kidding me? She wasnt. My mother and fianc can attest to this. My understanding is this is illegal. I told her I would be in, however, I called the corp. office as soon as I hung up with her and filed another concern.

I didnt hear anything for almost 48 hours. I can produce a phone record to PROVE that I NEVER received any calls or messages from Kathy or anyone else concerning my taxes. I called the corp office again and left another concern.

At this point, I want my taxes signed and my fianc and I want a full refund of all fees paid to Liberty Tax Service as is suppose to be guaranteed. I have sent an email and left a message at Liberty tax service where Kathy is currently located on US 19 in New Port Richey Fl. I understand that they do not open until Tuesday at which time I want the above resolution.

I do not want this situation any uglier than it already is. I want it fixed and stopped here.

Thank you for listening to  my concerns, and I hope you are able to do more for me than the corp office, and the manager, Kathy. This has been a complete nightmare that I just want over.

I am currently waiting for resolution.

Things are looking better!

Prayers are answered, and in my case, those who responded are Nancy and Carol. Thank goodness for both of them! First, Nancy was super fast answering my concerns and making sure I was able to speak to the correct person to fix my issues. That person turned out to be Carol at Liberty Tax Service on US 19 in New Port Richey, Fl.

Carol took the time out of her busy schedual to personally call me and set an appointment, and going so far as staying in the office all day in case I was late. Upon arriving at the office Carol was very nice and straight to the point. She looked over both my fiance's and my taxes and explained to us what should of happened vs. what did happen. We were able to make a complete resolution. Carol is going to honor the satisifation guarentee and beyond that she will do our taxes next year for free due to our distress.

While we still over the IRS over $2000, we are more satisfied that we were treated fairly and honestly by Carol. And, we have learned a valuable leason that we need to know at least the basics about our taxes so we can ensure they don't get filed incorrectly.

I am very happy how my concerns were handled once the right people took over, and  I would use the service again.
