United Portrait Studios is now operating as National Portrait Studios. Still J.P. Jarrett or what ever he's calling himself these days. This guy is crook stay away from him. I believe he's trying to set up a new rig in Utah, if your reading this and work for him trust me and get out now before you get screwed.

Steve contacted me and was all upset that I reported that he paid me. I was mistaken. The person who paid me was JP Howard.

Please accept my apologies, Steve. I do not mean to implicate you in any of this. JP is the person who failed to pay me for my work. Steve, as far as I know, does not have any involvement in this problem.

In her initial post Pat failed to mention that at the time she was attempting to e-mail me, I no longer had access to the account to which she was sending her messages as I had already severed my ties with the true culprit, Jarred Pratt.

Now Pat Wayman from Venice, Florida (((ROR REDACTED))), has posted that I sent her money to Walmart, yet another false statement regarding my relationship with Jarret Pratt. PAT - PLEASE GET YOUR FACTS, NAMES, ETC., RIGHT!!!

I expect a Full and Unqualified retraction to be posted on this matter IMMEDIATELY!

We have established that if you go to work for this company you'll likely encounter difficulties in getting paid. If prospective contractors see these posts and still goes to work, well, what can one expect??

The United States Attorney is following the matter and an investigative agency from another branch is beginning to make some calls to day-care centers around the country to verify certain information they have been provided. Once initial verification is obtained you'll be contacted. Just tell them the truth, give them copies of your records, and let's keep the pressure on until this guy and all his kind are out of the business.

Mr. Pratt A Final thought for you...

It is evident you're delusional, contacting corporate attorneys when defense attorneys would be the more appropriate legal professionals from whom to seek the sort of advice you need. You may also wish to contact my accountant. She's wonderful and might even be able to sort through your mess.


The IRS has defined 1099 workers by establishing criteria for employees, non-employees and independent contractors. Some of the points the IRS considers include:

Behavioral control the extent to which the hiring company controls and directs the worker.

Instructions the business provides to the worker the worker's freedom in choosing when and where to work, what tools to use, where to purchase supplies, where to purchase related services, what work must be performed by a specified individual, whether subcontractors are permitted, and more.

Training provided to the worker -- independent contractors usually use their own methods to carry out work.

Financial control independent contractors usually have unreimbursed expenses, make a significant investment in the facilities they use to carry out work, invoice by flat fee or some other method than a regular wage, and end up in a situation where they face a profit or loss.

Relationship type -- independent contractors have written contracts, no benefits, non-permanent relationships, non-core functions, and the freedom to work for other companies.

There have been questions raised as to whether those working for this company are in fact "contractors" given the non-compete clause in the contract as well as the degree of control exercised over the employee's income by the company. It may be that we have all paid our own s.s. taxes (and other employer obligated taxes) when all along we were not 1099 employees. It not a decision I can make but there are those who are actively pursuing the answer. Just be patient. The house of cards is about to fall down.

How can anyone sell anything to "another company" when ALL of the companies are owned by the same people. No business licensing, no tax ID and crossing state lines with no state tax ID's for ANY of the states your working in?
Grand Studios Inc. Lifetime Studios, Lifetime Portrait Studios, Alpine Studios, United Portrait Studios are ALL run by the same three people. You're accusing me of selling (via private e mail) to your own companies.

I didn't sell to any other company any information while you were running from Arkansas to Florida. Your superior had rights to the accounts and didn't even want them because your name was attached to them.

So, who was it I sold accounts to?

Jarrett Howard Pratt didn't write that he's verbose, but he can't write, so he has someone else writing for him.

Now, my taxes are filed ( have been since March) and I have already provided all of my information to the IRS. You ALL know that I had written to ALL of you and requested 1099's of which I have record. So report away. Not that I believe you would want to endanger yourselves and you most definitely would.

Why would you want to include a link to a W-9 if you didn't owe me money?

I don't believe the other information you've provided here in regard to Steve, but talk about liable! Accusing someone of funneling money? And to what? Al-Qaida? I wouldn't want to be you when he discovers this little missive.

I worked for you for almost 4 months. IF you have record of 17 accounts that didn't shoot out of well over 200, that's fine, and you also didn't pay me for them as you went. AND I would like to call on that little list, you have my e mail address, send it to me. You STILL owe me money and you admitted it in an e mail which I've neatly filed for future use.

The bottom line is, people all over this country know you're scum. And the more that post here, the more implicated you are in the FRAUD that you're known for. I am absolutely FEARLESS of the IRS! HE has an actual contract with my REAL signature. I NEVER EVER sign "no-competes" EVER. I won't do that under ANY circumstances.

By treating people right, paying what you owe and delivering product that has been paid for, it wouldn't take me more than a couple of really great photographers and my own abilities to build this business model to be something great AND RESPECTED!

It could be something that could be respected AND with very little territory and HONESTY, we could make a living WITHOUT HARMING OTHERS.

Maybe I will! How's THAT for no-compete!? Again-- you're putting yourselves in a VERY precarious legal position with accusations that I can prove to be lies.

We have printed out all e-mails from said parties. (We can forward them)

#1 Pat is the only person that was owed funds. She now has been paid.

#2 Steve Wirth is owed $0.00 and in fact owes the company for cancelled accounts.

Per his last e-mail all funds to him have been paid in Full! There is a transaction record through Green Dot Inc. A pre-paid Credit card that he uses to funnel money through. He stated to me that he funneled $30,000 through it. We have requested a W-9 form from Steve but he is unwilling to give us one. We have reported him to the IRS. He may download form from http://www.irs.gov/pub/irs-pdf/fw9.pdf

Steve Wirth was contacted via telephone On July 3rd 2007. He stated to me that I owe him nothing.

He stated that he contacted a US attorney but was unwilling to give name or phone #.

#3 Jacqueline Is not owed a dime. The contract states that she will be paid for accounts that we shoot. We did not shoot approx. 17 accounts that she booked due to either:

1. They were sold to another Company by her. (SHE WAS PAID BY THEM)
2. The accounts cancelled.
3. The number of sittings were not accurately stated by sales Rep.

We have documentation that 17 accounts that were NOT shot.
We have requested a W-9 form from Jacqueline but she is unwilling to give us one. We have reported her to the IRS. She may download form from http://www.irs.gov/pub/irs-pdf/fw9.pdf

We have records of all of these accounts and every statement here can be verified.

Again, I have nothing to do with the other companies and names that are listed, I think that these people are irrational and Really need to read the contract that they were given.

Hello Pat;
I'm sorry this happened to you. I dismantled these idiots once and believe me it won't be difficult to do it again.

I'll call the number you have for Steve Wirth and you can call me anytime. I will also provide my e mail address.

I've been in touch with several offices of authority in TN. I also have a very long list of information on these companies, clients etc... Again, if you and Steve have accounts that have appointments, I would call and warn them of the impending doom that follows these idiots around.

I wouldn't want my name associated with them if I were you two. And if you've left your number with these potential clients, they will most definitely call you back when they don't deliver. This is how they stay hidden.

It won't be long now until Jarrett ups and moves, especially when he's contacted by state authorities. It's what he does when things get too hot. This certainly isn't a threat, it will happen... it's the beauty of computers. Big Brother can watch even closer now. IP addresses are golden as are e mail addresses.

I find it amusing as well that he is only now asking for W-2 forms from you two despite the fact that he has paid some of you without these forms, interesting isn't it?

Whatever the case, I will be in touch and notes can be compared. I'm glad we put much of it here so when others look it up they can find it too. We aren't the only ones, I assure you. I can provide many names of many people who have also taken hits from these companies.

Please, please call the contacts you've made and make them aware of what has happened to you. You will never see the money anyway and they have a right to cancel and if they've already been done, they need to never go back.

As well, daycare centers network. They will let one another know of the dangers. They will post to county forums and such. As a matter of fact, they should question ANYONE who is doing vintage photography unless it's Antiquities or if Lifetouch begins to do this, which they will not.

Aaron and Jarrett have both bragged on the fact that with the Lifetime name, that many believed they were Lifetouch who is highly reputable. They do shoots in almost every school and daycare in the country. Many people I spoke with thought it was Lifetouch, I corrected them, of course, and glad I did.

ANYONE who gets involved with any of these company name will get screwed over. Any photographer involved will be taken for alot of money. And whatever trailing daycares they've collected money in advance with, when they decide to run will lose all their money. The parents will be angry and ultimately the daycare director is left dealing with all of it.

Anyone dealing with these company names should demand a physical address that can be verified. Check with the BBB. As a matter of fact anyone who hasn't been paid by them should file a complaint with the BBB. The BBB isn't that big a deal however, people do look up businesses there. If they're listed, they will tend to stay away from doing business with them.

You and Steve should contact the accounts and stop them before anything else happens. If any of them have been taken, they should be encouraged to come here and post with us, what has happened.

Jarrett, Aaron & James, they don't care, they will keep going until the law finally catches up with them. It will happen. They will get caught, it's a matter of time. I've worked with them all. As I left Jarrett, Aaron and James were contacted when I found they were affiliated.

They convinced me that Jarrett was trash, and they had been in business for many years and they wouldn't have anything to do with Jarrett that he left the company and was bad news.

When I went to work for the other company, they did the same thing to SO MANY people! Then comes the phone calls from the MANY daycare centers I booked. People not getting their portraits after cash was collected in advance. The stories are endless. They even tried to stop me from working with a legitimate photographer by forging my name to a "No compete" which I never signed.

The photographer was completely legit, so he had all of my info and I contracted with him. He KNEW my signature. It was hilarious. My attorneys are still working that. I'm relatively certain James has been contacted regarding this issue.

I'll call Steve now and we'll work from there. I don't think you should walk away from this. It's EXACTLY why they continue to get by with what they're doing. Your time is valuable and he owes you money. He/THEY owe ALOT of people money for services and tangibles.

As I mentioned in my second response, I did not see your original complaint until after I filed my compaint; I used other search words and your came up. I'm so glad you noticed this and updated the information here. By the way, great idea about flagging his Craig's list ads. Let's see what new name he comes up with. By the way, I would love to be able to compare notes with you.

I did not work for him very long. The business concept seems very workable, and would have done well for an "honest" owner. Too bad he has to try to turn this into his own get-rich scheme by exploiting others.

JP (or whatever your name is): I consider it a good idea that I do not give you any additional information about myself. That would be a little crazy, don't you think? You had your chance to pay me....several weeks you said the check was in the mail or I should go pick up my payment. You never tried to contact me after this complaint was filed. I am sure you have my contact information. That being said, please don't bother now. I have better things to do!

I haven't received notice that you "donated" (in my name) what you owe me to this site, so I guess you don't feel too bad about not paying me!

For work-at-home people: Please thoroughly check out the people you work for. Get a physical address and use regular mail to contact them at least once. (Mail fraud is something they don't want to get involved in.)

Amazingly, he states that he only owes me 630.00 not 720.00 ( amazing isn't it, that he thinks he remembers that figure? It's incorrect, but I'm interested in how he came up with that figure) C'mon JARRETT HOWARD PRATT- I don't understand how we are liars, HERE, but in the e mails you sent me today in reply to my congratulations to your making it to the front page of Ripoffreport.com You state and I quote via copy and paste...( from your e mail dated 6/29/2007 7:35:40 P.M. Eastern Daylight Time)

"I do NOT owe Steve Wirth a dime,.... I have e-mails stating from him that I paid him in FULL. I do owe Pat $100.00 I wish I could get a hold of her. I feel bad."

You need to make up your mind son.

Again, I will remind you. YOU are the person who is supposed to supply the 1099 at the end of the year NOT us! I'm sure had you asked anyone for a W-2, you would have received it. Who is your accountant? I would be interested in asking why your accountant didn't require these in advance of contracting.

By the way, did anyone sign ANYTHING with Jarrett?

At this point, however, I would suggest anyone involved, acquire an EIN number, it's a 10 minute process with the IRS and makes your social security number unavailable to JARRETT HOWARD PRATT or any of his cohorts. I know I will NEVER turn my SS# over to these people and an EIN is VERY easy to acquire.

If he wants W-2's, fine, but only with an EIN. Of course, I can't imagine that he's actually paying taxes, but who am I to say? I DID send a letter to these people asking for 1099's and was ignored. I did provide a W-2 so enough is enough.

Jarrett HAS, in these same e mails offered to pay me what he owes me. I will keep everyone posted. If he DOES pay me, I will be more than happy to post it here, in all fairness and would encourage anyone else he's messed over, to do the same... then... if you see ANY of these ads on Craigs list, flag them the community will shut them down if 2 people flag them. The ads are easy to find. All of these people are creatures of habit as I'm certain you are all aware. I'll be happy to look for and flag them, no problem.

Now, let's see who gets paid. I'll bet it won't be me. We'll see, but I WILL continue to post.

Well, well,... I see he's back at it again. This person's name is JARRETT HOWARD PRATT. Look that name up on the internet and you'll find some REAL INTERESTING stuff.

These aren't the only names involved here. AARON ROSENBERG, JAMES ( I can't remember the last name) Go to grandstudiosinc.com/ -- as this is where the entire dirty little scam begins. JAMES owns this company and this is where the boys learned their little tricks!

Aaron and Jarret Howard Pratt NOT JP Howard-- recently moved to Memphis, TN to start over. I know this through Aaron Rosenberg's Myspace AND JARRET HOWARD PRATT called me on the phone a few months ago and had the balls to ask me to come back to work for him.

Offered me 100.00 per account. Told me how he was now married, had a baby, was now a Christian, he learned that crap from James too. It's all a HUGE LIE. Of course I told him it would be ridiculous for me to go back to work for him.

He said he had gone into rehab and was now on the right track, said he was overwhelmed, that he was selling appointments, paid in advance, in blocks, in otherwords, he was charging so much per 10 appointments etc...

I told him I would like to speak to the people he's working with to see what the realities are, he said he wouldn't let me do that because he was afraid I would ruin his business. I couldn't believe he called me in the first place.

I KNEW this was going to happen. JARRETT HOWARD PRATT has family in ARKANSAS. Cindy Pratt is his step mother's name and I believe she's listed. There are plenty of daycare centers who have been affected by these jerks, it's not just in one place or another. I believe JARRETT HOWARD PRATT's mother lives in Florida as well.

Photographers, sales, appointment setters ANYONE should watch what they're doing with this company! Most importantly there should be some sort of document sent to every attorney general all over the country. They may stop here, but they will go on somewhere else.

JARRETT can't even get a bank account with Bank Of America for 2 years because he left them owing them as well!!

If you've made appointments for these people recently, you should call every single one of these accounts and cancel them for their own good. ANYONE who has ever worked for these people will eventually get caught up in a disaster.

I called a city in Arkansas, I believe it was Fayetteville to find out the origination of United Portrait Studios when I found that and KNEW it was Jarrett Pratt. Found from the city it was an empty building and the phone number associated never answered the phone.

I sent an e mail to the e mail address and was told that he 'wasn't a chump like the other guys' and that I'd better back off. It was Jarrett.

I cannot BELIEVE that these people are still managing this scam and getting by with it. They lay low, they don't provide addresses where they can be found and they set up from state to state until they're caught.

Aaron and Jarret Howard Pratt NOT JP Howard-- recently moved to Memphis, TN to start over. I know this through Aaron Rosenberg's Myspace AND JARRET HOWARD PRATT called me on the phone a few months ago and had the balls to ask me to come back to work for him.

Offered me 100.00 per account. Told me how he was now married, had a baby, was now a Christian, he learned that crap from James too. It's all a HUGE LIE. Of course I told him it would be ridiculous for me to go back to work for him.

He said he had gone into rehab and was now on the right track, said he was overwhelmed, that he was selling appointments, paid in advance, in blocks, in otherwords, he was charging so much per 10 appointments etc...

I told him I would like to speak to the people he's working with to see what the realities are, he said he wouldn't let me do that because he was afraid I would ruin his business. I couldn't believe he called me in the first place.

I KNEW this was going to happen. JARRETT HOWARD PRATT has family in ARKANSAS. Cindy Pratt is his step mother's name and I believe she's listed. There are plenty of daycare centers who have been affected by these jerks, it's not just in one place or another. I believe JARRETT HOWARD PRATT's mother lives in Florida as well.

Oh my god...I am getting so tired of this. I have paid you people.. Stop lying! I have every piece of paperwork on file...What the heck are you talking about?

I am mentioned in the report filed by Pat Wayman. I'm filing this statement to put the record straight.

I too worked for JP Howard a/k/a/ United Portrait Studios, a/k/a Lifetime Portraits. For the first couple of weeks I was paid as he agreed and on time. As I began to produce more and more accounts for his photography business, JP suggested I find and train others to book day care centers for his Vintage Portrait business.

Pat was one of the people responding to my Craigslist posting who I actually believed might be worth training. Pat appeared to be both capable and motivated and in fact, within a couple of days she booked three of four accounts.

I submitted the accounts Pat booked to JP, he paid me a $25.00 "manager's fee" on these accounts. He told me he would send Pat a check in the mail. The very next week he sent me an e-mail stating that all four accounts Pat booked had canceled.

Prior to the situation with Pat, JP had frequently told me that accounts for which I had been paid had canceled. It was only after he told me that all four of Pat's accounts had canceled that I became suspicious and called the centers that had purportedly canceled.

I discovered that JP had been lying to me all along about the cancellation of accounts, basically concocting the story to pocket the money himself. From what I have been reading on RipOff Report this seems to be the pattern with this person.

When I confronted JP with the information he attempted to make it my fault, too few children, this, that and any other thing he could conjure. I finally told him that unless he paid me for the pending accounts and those he had wrongfully withheld payment for I would begin canceling the accounts for which he owed me.

JP paid me about half of what he owed and still owes me nearly $500.00. I have discussed this situation with a federal prosecutor and would like for everyone who has been a victim of his unscrupulous business practices to contact me. It's time we band together to put this guy out of the business. In my opinion he will not stop screwing people like Pat, Jacqueline and myself until he's brought to task. I encourage all of you to read the Racketeer Influenced and Corrupt Organizations Act ("RICO"), 18 U.S.C. 1961 et seq to see if you believe JP has subjected you to violations of this law. Again, if you believe you've been a victim please contact me ASAP.

This particular contractor worked for less than one week.

She booked 4 accounts for our company. 2 had called and cancelled within the first week. The figures that she submitted were incorrect and we have felt that she gave false information to the accounts and to our company. She stated that the accounts had more children that what was true. We have received NO phone calls from her at all, nor was her contract ever sent back to us. Unless a 1099 is signed we can not pay. We waited and have no problems paying her the $100 as long as the 2 accounts that actually were valid and shot.

We respect and value our reputation and all who are a part of our company.

If she is reading this, please make contact VIA telephone and send back the 1099 via E-mail and we would be more than happy to pay you your $100.00
